Only a Second or Two  by Larner 7 Review(s)

*stunned*

Wow.

What else is there to say? So much power in such a very few words.

Author Reply: Thank you. When writing in drabbles it's necessary to be quite succinct, I find. Sometimes that strips things of sufficient detail as to leave them feeling unsatisfactory; sometimes it increases their power. I'm glad that in this case it was the latter. Again, thank you. But I suspect this is how Frodo felt after the quest.

Very true, Larner. So sad that Frodo couldn't share Sam's approach to things!

Author Reply: Frodo was the one who was worse injured, inside and out, however. Had it not been for all the pain he'd known, I suspect he would have been better able to share Sam's POV.

Thanks.

Yet in the end he found there was so much more than the Shire that was beautiful and worthy; and by seeing the waste places he found he loved the green of home the more in the end.
Oooo i like this!
Very nice drabble! =)

Author Reply: Oh, I'm so glad you like it, Periantari. Thank you!

That is so sad, but terribly true!

Frodo desperately wanted to return to the Shire and to his former life. But it was impossible! The Ring had changed him too much. And his heart was maimed like his finger!

Sam on the other hand could still appreciate the beauty of the Shire. But on that very day when Frodo had to leave, he took away a part of Sam's heart as well.

In my opinion both of them found true happiness only when they were together again in the end.

Author Reply: Each was able to find enough healing to appreciate where they were found, I think; but only on coming together again were both fully complete and ready for the next step.

Thank you so, Andrea.

Very sad for Frodo and very true for both but once our dear went West one would hope he found beauty again to stay with him.

Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Author Reply: Yes, finding his healing was a joy restored for Frodo son of Drogo, as the waste places faded from his heart and he could indeed embrace beauty again.

Le hannon, mellon nín.

YIKES! Profound - truly profound.

I do not like the quote - I have wanderlust - it came down from my father.... but I did love this!

Author Reply: I disagree with the quote as well--and see where that disagreement led?

Thanks so, Agape.
