| I have to echo the kudos for the portrayal of the Dwarves and Tamin in this chapter. Gimli's characterization was spot on - his grief when it appeared that Legolas was going to die, his matter-of-fact response to Legolas when he awoke. And Tamin! Good thing he was there, to energize the two Dwarves who surely looked like they were going to give up! (One imagines that they *would* have given up, but in order to give the "child" hope...) Thankfully Legolas is going to recover (in body), though as Dúrfinwen says, grief does strange things to Elves, and Legolas is going to grieve deeply over Bandobras. Who knows what twists things may take because of that? As for a Radagast and Dúrfinwen pairing... are you really that intent on frustrating your Legomance minded readers? SIGH. (If not Legolas, then I suppose a Maia might do... but really, it is quite vexing! Dúrfinwen does not seem to stand in awe of Legolas - quite the opposite - and her cheerful good nature is just the thing that he needs.) I guess that I am looking forward to more - where the other sword came, what happened with Thranduil and the other Dwarves and Kaimelas, justice that is coming to Malbeach and Renna - but you will have to excuse me for being disappointed over my (seemingly?) dashed hopes for a Legolas-Dúrfinwen romance. Author Reply: There, there ... I'm not exactly in any shape right now to write a Legomance, but who knows? Plot bunnies abound, and Nieriel Raina has tons of them. (They breed like ... well, you know.) I'm glad you like my characterizations of the Dwarves! I personally disliked Jackson turning Gimli's fine character into nothing more than comic relief; I thought he deserved more than that. The next chapter is up. Enjoy! | |

| How satisfying it is that Legolas - finally - sleeps. I loved this chapter! Had to giggle at poor Ve's reaction; the first thing I'd want to ask someone like Radagast is if they could do something 'typically' magic for me too! And I am glad Durfinwen seems pretty set on keeping her name. Anoriel *is* nice, but I personally don't feel it suits her. Author Reply: Sleep! When one is deprived of it, one knows how precious it is! Yes; I'm glad Legolas can sleep, too. Durfinwen/Anoriel is not alone in possessing more than one name ... think of Estel/Aragorn/Elessar! | |

| Ha! That Radagast is quite the rascal to sneak up on Durfinwen like that! I loved the combined arrogance and kindness of the wizard--arrogance to think that at one word of his, Durfinwen will look for him in Valinor, kindness to count her past as nothing and to see her true worth. Shall we ever see a postscript to this chapter (a la "The Lieutenant and the Huntsmistress")? It is very fitting that Radagast the nature/animal lover should take a shine to the last of the Laiquenda, especially as you have described her talents. And Durfinwen is not one to be trampled over by a grumpy Maia! This match is intriguing!! This chapter was, of course, excellent. The image of poor Tamin having to crawl around like Gollum was too sad. What a brave child he is, standing up for his Master's life! Gimli was heartbreaking when they found the poisoned wound. His stunned dismay was so vivid, when he could only sit there and mourn over the wound. Good thing Tamin the Optimist was there to get the Dwarves moving so that Legolas was still alive when Radagast showed up. And how I enjoyed Radagast's abuse of the Dwarves and of Legolas himself... as if they all conspired to do things badly just to spite him. Hee! What a lovable curmudgeon! I really can't wait to see the significance of the second sword. I had thought that it might possibly be Bandy's, until you said it was tall. Has Thranduil's sword been stolen by the villains, only to end in his son's hand? That's my best guess. Author Reply: I'm pleased you've figured out the significance of the second sword! I'm sure if you think about it, you'll realize whose sword it really is. Or you could wait until Chapter 30, when I actually reveal it. Chapter 29 is up - enjoy, and thanks for reviewing! | |

| The description of Legolas' condition at the beginning of the chapter was heartbreaking. Thank goodness for Radagast! Even despite the drama, I managed a chuckle at Radagast's response to Ve's request to, "Do something magic." And I like the idea of a romance between Durfinwen and Radagast in the Undying Lands. Maybe Radagast won't be in the form of an old man there - he could be more to Durfinwen's taste, you never know :) Author Reply: Wow, another plug for a Radagast/Durfinwen romance! I too was satisfied with my characterization of Radagast; I rather thought he'd be a bit of a curmudgeon, considering how he spoke to Gandalf. The next chapter is up. | I think that this is my favorite chapter for Tamin; he's come such a long way in this story, but he's still our little Tamin. Legolas waking up cracked me up and was written perfectly. Only Legolas could get away with waking up from near-death like a teenager on a Monday morning. I love this story, and I'm really going to miss it when it finishes. Well, I have to admit I borrowed a bit from my own teenager, and dragging her out of bed after a busy weekend ... Tamin is bound to change, after everything he's seen and experienced. | Eee!! I'm bouncing up and down here like a giddy teenager. Durfinwen and Radagast? Oh how romantic he sounded regardless of his no nonsense attitude...swoon! It's happening right? The tale of the two destined lovers meeting once more in the Undying Lands...double swoon! A tale I certainly would love reading. You are wicked! Leaving your readers wondering so lol. Very clever. I do love the way u portray Radagast. It is entertaining to read how he barks at the others with his impatient and sharp words. I must admit that Tamin is becoming a favorite of mine. It was sad to see the spirit of the daffodil-child dampened there for a while. I hope he has a part in any future fics you write. Perhaps a Black Knight of Dol Galenehtar story in the future? Forgive me I have a wild imagination. I'm glad Legolas is ok although I think they all still have a tough time of healing ahead. And I do hope that Durfinwen has a prominent role in kicking Renna's butt! Thanks for keeping us glued to our screens with mouthes agape. Will be checking in regularly for the next chapter. | Ok, he is alive and Durfinwen is doing well..I'm happy. Love the chapter, I just wondering...Why wizards have to be so cryptic? Do they take a training in how do not say anything and confuse people? I'm at work, so this review will be short, but I'm glad for the update and ready for the next one. Thanks to you and your beta. I have always suspected it had more to do with the duality of their existence - angelic beings forced into mortal bodies - and with their perspective, Valar-driven, of Arda's place in the universe.
