"How he loved these moments, for the singing gave him peace, but always at the bittersweet cost of knowing that the cawing of the crebain sounded better than his own singing." Aw, Halbarad. But it's the spirit with which you sing. ^^ Aragorn should give him lessons. But now I need to hear Aragorn and the twins singing like this. NEED, I tell you. It makes me think of the scene where Sam and Frodo watch the elves heading for the west: a scene that never fails to make me tear up. Author Reply: Thanks! And I know exactly what you mean... after I wrote that I had the most terrible, wistful need to *hear* the three of them sing. *sigh* I guess we'll just have to use our imaginations!

LOL! What a horrible comparison for Halbarad's voice. well done! All oof these drabbles are cute and nicely done. Author Reply: Thanks, Ellie... Halbard's not got a very high opinion of his own singing skills, which does make me wonder what he must really sound like. *g* I'm glad you're enjoying this collection of drabbles and stories.

I wish I could hear Aragorn and the twins sing, too! You make it sound so beautiful. :) LOL, the last sentence made me laugh! Poor Halbarad! Well, I guess even a formidable ranger like Halbarad can't be good at everything. *g* Author Reply: Thank you, Almut! Yes, even Halbarad can't do it all... although he sure wishes he could at least sing. :)

Ah, poor Halbarad, not having the gift of singing himself. At least he can appreciate it in others! Nicely done descriptions. Author Reply: Thank you, Larner! There's a bit of myself in that... I can't paint to save my life but I so love looking at the artwork of others. I'm glad you liked this, and thanks for the review!

A most charming, bittersweet, and poetical drabble. Trust your Halbarad to perceive all the beauty in the mingled voices of the twins and Aragorn, and to be wise enough to make light fun of his own shortcoming. Author Reply: Thank you, Estelcontar... yes, Halbarad's one that can appreciate music all the more for not being able to produce it well himself. I'm glad you enjoyed this.

I love the description of the twins' and Aragorn's voices. Poor Halbarad; not having a talent for music... Excellent ficlet! Author Reply: Thank you, Raksha! I'm glad you liked this... and yes, poor Halbarad can appreciate but not contribute. :)

Oh that was lovely, just, lovely! What a sound to hear that must have been. Author Reply: Wouldn't it have been? *sigh* It's hard to describe music with words, but I hoped to capture some of the enchantment of it. Thanks for the kind words!

Beautiful... I can see this. I can imagine the crackling of the fire, the hissing as a log with hidden dampness ignites and the hiss of embedded water turns to steam, as Elladan, Elrohir and Estel sing. So lovely. Thank you for this. ~Marethiel Author Reply: Thank you, Marethiel! I love that my drabble evoked such powerful imagery for you. :) Wouldn't you have loved to have been sitting beside Halbarad listening? Ahhh. Thanks again for the review!
