| I'm glad he carved the rose on the casket. And I can understand his confusion and questions. As for getting roaring drunk--I suspect that might not be the best thing to do.... Author Reply: Not a good thing to do at all. And there are more temptations ahead of him still. His redemption is clearly not going to happen overnight! | I think he would go too, as I have written. There are indeed limits, but Frodo had already pushed himself far beyond what he thought those limits were in the first place, he would push himself again if need be. Greenjade has much to learn and his stepfather's example is certainly a good one. Namarie, God bless, Antane :) Author Reply: I guess there's no way to know if he would go or not. He's a fictional character, after all.;) If he were to refuse, I doubt I could find it within me to blame him. Once I read a book called The Things They Carried about american soldiers in Vietnam, and the narrator ponders why it was he went to Vietnam, instead of fleeing to Canada. He concludes that perhaps he was "afraid to be a coward," and therefore cannot really be considered a hero. It's what got me to mulling over the reasons people do the things we consider heroic. Are such deeds completely selfless? Or might there be more to it? Thanks once more for commenting! ~~~~~{~@ | |
