Mirach, this is absolutely wonderful. You've captured all the emotions that Aragorn must surely have been feeling at that time and brought them together beautifully. Well done. Author Reply: Thank you very much! I'm really glad if I managed to capture all the emotions - there had to be so much of them! He worked hard all his life for this, and now it fulfilled in one moment...

Once again, you've left me speechless! I don't really know how to express how much I love this, but I'll try because I know how nice it is to get reviews that touch on specifics. :) I love the way this adheres so well to the books. You've worked in actual quotes from the books seamlessly, no easy task. Three things particularly leapt at me: that he was fighting not for victory, but for hope is one. I love that, because it really does sum up succinctly all that Aragorn is; Estel he was, but really still is and always will be. The second was the way you brought in Numenor and his thoughts of how he at last proved that the bloodline was strong after all. It underscores so well his selflessness. And I love how you worked in how he decided the words to use at his coronation... in so many ways, Aragorn's own life echoes the road of Numenoreans. And finally his thoughts as he nearly killed himself saving Sam and Frodo, and the little glimpse you managed to work in about his brothers' love for him. Wonderful warm fuzzy, that. As your stories always do, this one left me feeling deeply satisfied (and not as speechless as I thought)! Author Reply: Thank you very much Cairistiona for the wonderful rewiev! I'm really glad that you are not so speechless after all =) I have no big credit it the quotes - they just keep leaping out from my mind in the right places when I write a story, demanding attention =) I think that he really didn't believe that they will survive, when he stood before the Black Gate. Hope was the only thing that they fought for, but it was not their hope. That is the real depth of the sacriice that he was willing to take. And the Standing Silence is a great occasion for thoughts about Númenor, it was a honoring of ancestors in a way. But I couldn't resist some warm fuzzies in the story =) Because it was him who tols it, the scene was not described in much detail in his modesty, but the twins would tell you how far he pushed himself, and how they feared for him! Thank you for your review again, I'm very glad that the story satisfied you so!

A heady taste, so well deserved, so heavily earned. Gondor is now his, and Arnor shall be again! Author Reply: I tried to imagine the feeling, and I think that it realy had to be overwhelming! He work so many years for it, his whole long life, maybe he often even didn't believe that it will come true. Such a moment is truly heady and powerful! Thank you very muc for your review!

I didn’t believe in victory. I believed in hope. This is truly beautiful, and you wove those quotes into your story seamlessly. He lived a lifetime in that moment of silence. Author Reply: Thank you! I believe that there had to be such a moment, when everything that had to be done was accomplished, and things calmed for a moment. And then you realize everything at once...
