| “Bar wenches?” Arwen asked, raising an eyebrow. She wasn’t upset - yet. LOL!!! It didn't take Arwen long to discover Aragorn's "dark secret"! Great chapter, Gamgeefest. I have just realised that like Aragorn and all the others in Minas Tirith I've waited for this special party to arrive. And although I knew what would happen I was as fascinated as the crowd when I "saw" Arwen Undomiel. You did a great job there! And Frodo did a great job with Petras. Both of them do not know what the future will bring. But maybe that is a good thing. All I know is that the impossible is possible. If you can imagine it, you can make it be. Everything is possible, for it's "The Beginning of All Things"! I like that title very much. Thank you :-) Author Reply: *grin* Yep, I'm sure Aragorn wouldn't have minded putting off that conversation for a little longer, but Arwen really won't mind. She'll find it quite humorous. ;) I thought at times we would never reach the wedding. Perhaps Arwen's party got lost in the woods somewhere, without the twins there to guide them. ;) But she arrived at last, and on time. It took me some time to figure how to portray that, and the wedding, so I'm glad that you enjoyed it! Frodo and Petras have both been wounded by their experiences, as have so many others, but they will do their best to find new lives for themselves. We know Frodo will eventually have to sail. Petras, I believe, will find happiness again also, once he's come to terms with his losses. He's still in the grieving period. I like that title too! It just seemed so appropriate. :D | |

| What does Frodo do now? Hmmmm.... This is definitely something to consider. Glad that he decided to write his book! This is a sweet chapter for the joy within it. Like the beginning too with Sam at the Tree thinking of Rose. Namarie, God bless, Antane :) Author Reply: Naturally, Frodo does find some distraction in completing the Red Book, but I can't say it was a healthy distraction. He had to relive everything that he went through, and probably had to do so several times. If he was using it as a tool to purge his sorrows, that would be one thing, but he doesn't do this. The worse things get, the more detached the narrative becomes, or we see things only from Sam's pov. Sam is quite distracted himself now. ;) But we know that Rose is thinking about him just as often. :) | |

| “I don’t know what you do, or what I am to do. All I know is that the impossible is possible." That's the only answer. All any of us can do is walk the path laid before our feet, and do our best. You're wrapping this up beautifully. At last the citizens are finding a new way to live, the redecorations are done, the Queen has arrived, and the hobbits remain as delightful as ever. Your descriptions of Arwen, and the wedding, and the joy everyone felt, ae really wonderful. Author Reply: It is the only answer, and yet not really an answer at all. In the words of Dori from Finding Nemo, just keep swimming. Or in their case, just keep living. ;) New life and new hope have come to Gondor. It truly is a new beginning for them all, and one that they will not take for granted. Everyone has much to be grateful for here, and at last the final shadows of the War are fading away. | |

| Great chapter. I like they way you ended it which was perfect, but I would have liked to hear Aragorn's explanation of streaking! This really is a wonderful description of the wedding. I also like the way you described the Kings House. Aragorn has done all he can to make Arwen comfortable. Author Reply: Thank you! Arwen should find the story quite humorous, once Aragorn does get around to telling it, which would probably take a while, considering. ;) Aragorn knows what Arwen has given up in choosing him, and he would do anything within his power to make her feel as much at home as possible. | |

| *Very Big Grin* What a wonderful chapter! The visit to Petras was a success-- yet it's clear that Frodo identifies so much with the young man. He understood what was under that desperate question, because of course, it's his question too. There have been many distractions in this story, but none of them have reached that part of Frodo that his cousins and friends would like to see reached. Arwen's entry was lovely. ...Arwen, the Evenstar, in a gown of sparkling silver. Behind her the night sky shone with many twinkling lights that beamed down upon her hair and in her eyes, and all about her was the fragrance of primrose and dahlia. Such beautiful descriptions! I loved that Sam was so caught up in thoughts of Rose that he could not recall the wedding ceremony-- and the tour of the King's House was delightful. Especially Pippin's contributions to the conversation. I do hope Arwen is amused by the tale... Author Reply: Frodo does identify a good deal with Petras's dilemma. His only comfort is that there is prehaps hope for Petras. As debilitating as his injury is, his spirit remains more or less intact. Frodo though... it is going to take more than a few distractions to get him through his pain. Tolkien gave us a rather lean description of her arrival in the City. It was fun to expand on that, and try to figure out what fragrance she may have had about her to be so distinguishable to Frodo. I figured night-blooming flowers would be the best guess. :) LOL! Good ole, Sam! Taking the blow for the author's lack of imagination here. :P I couldn't begin to piece together what that wedding would have been like, and what sort of vows might have been spoken, not without stretching this into another chapter. And this really isn't about their wedding, so much as Sam's growing eagerness to be home. I'm sure that Arwen will find the tale very humorous! :D | |
