Coastal Tales  by Linda Hoyland 6 Review(s)

This lovely vignette had me chuckling out loud with Aragorn and Faramir. It must have felt wonderful to be so remembered for so long. It's no wonder Aragorn was so delighted. The fact that the younger generation 'just go along to enjoy the feast' rang very true to life too.

Oh well done, Linda, that's just too funny! I can't help wondering just how long Aragorn and Faramir are going to be able to keep up the pretence.

A funny chapter - it had to happen sometime! I love the idea of a Captain's Day honoring the legendary Thorongil's defeat of the Corsairs - it would be natural for seacoast towns to venerate a defeat of their most bitter and immediate enemy in this way; and the new, distant king's visit might well seem far less important in comparison.

Delightful, Linda! Heh! They just don't realize....

Of course, given Aragorn's many achievements and many names, this sort of thing must have happened pretty often...
