It's been a little while since I've reviewed this one, and not on my accustomed day, either! Sorry to throw things off so, Larner. I do hope you're well, and making it through all right! Things have been weird these past few years, haven't they? Weirder than the sight our astronaut friends saw through the telescopes, even. But I do like coming back to them and sharing in their amazement now and again, even when it's not January. This piece inspired me to do an art piece for "Scribbles and Drabbles". I'm not sure if it's permitted for that, since it's technically a fanwork of a fanwork, so I'm waiting to hear back, but even if I can't use it for S&D I'd like to post it for you. Do you use Archive of our Own, so I can gift it to you there?

"Always this way, the third of January!" And I always come back to this tale on the third of January. I've recced it to others as well :) Ah, I do so adore "Transformation"! Happy New Year, and Happy Birthday to the Professor! Kaylee Author Reply: Hi, Kayla. I missed this one, I see. Love knowing you still cams back to this one. The last few years have been stressful, and it takes so long to get things written any more. U Thanks so for your tradition of reading this. May the Master keep inspiring us! Author Reply: Hi, Kayla. "Always this way, the third of January! Heh! And so it is. *toasts Larner, and the Professor, with my chocolate milk this morning* No vodka for me :) Happy Birthday, Professor! And thank *you* Larner, for something so comforting and familiar that I can always return to on this day. I hope I find you well, and that you and your loved ones are as protected from the cold as possible. What a winter it's been! *looks at reports of snow in Florida in amazement* May your 2018 be blessed! Kaylee Arafinwiel Author Reply: May 2019 be blessed for all of us, Kaylee!

Happy 2017, dear Larner, and a happy 125th birthday to the Professor! *toasts him with a glass of rather flat Cherry Vanilla Dr. Pepper, as it's leftover from the cinema yesterday* (I saw Rogue One...and then I had a weird dream last night that was like a crossover of Rogue One and this. Imagine if Tilion and the pilots of the other "vessels of crystal" got involved in the battle, perhaps led by Earendil...Yeah, my brain is definitely weird. :D ) May your days grow brighter, and may this year be much better than the last! Kaylee Author Reply: Oh, yes, a most auspicious day indeed! I was drinking the remains of my eggnog as I wrote this. Haven't seen "Rogue One" yet, but time will tell. I got the new "Ben Hur," but let friends see it first, so won't get to see it myself until I return home at the beginning of the week. I would so hope this year would be better than last year, but am uncertain what to expect with the coming change in administrations. At least my rib is healing, even if it is still hurting some with the cold weather.

"Always this way, the third of January!" Indeed it is, and I'm sitting here with my glass of eggnog, staring into its creamy depths (not that I see anything) and wondering somewhat if Atto Fiondil can see this from his lofty position. I'd like to think the Professor gets to sail with Earendil on this day. Surely if anyone deserves it, he does. Hopefully Atto Fiondil can accompany Tilion. That would be nice. *small smile* *raises glass* To the Professor - and Atto Fiondil. May Eru bless them both beyond the Circles of the World. With love, Kaylee Author Reply: Oh, I so hope this is true! To think of him sailing with Earendil aboard Vingilot is indeed delightful! May the Father indeed bless them both as you ask!

O Larner, I'm dreadfully late reviewing for this year, I feel - I've been feeling rather ill, and today am actually worse than I was on the 3rd, when I actually did the re-read. I just dropped off to sleep after reviewing, and only now realised I hadn't! But how captivating these astronauts (and their Russian friend) still are to me! I do find myself thinking that it's just too bad Tilion couldn't stop off inside the All-But-Forsaken-Inn for a glass of vodka! Heh! *raises a glass of Sprite, belated though it is* To the Professor!! Kaylee Arafinwiel

And, yet another year has gone by...*grins and raises a glass to Larner* Sprite, this time, the eggnog's run out - but hey, nice to remember what I was having last year about this time. I still adore your confused Russian cosmonaut, lol! and the All-But-Forsaken-Inn...I wonder, did he come up with that name or did someone else? The two Americans have become Dr. Ryan Stone and Lieutenant Matt Kowalski of "Gravity" to me, although Dr. Stone is in fact female, lol. I like to think to myself that they had this moment of happiness and wonder together with their Russian friend before the events of "Gravity" unfolded as they did. If you haven't seen that, btw, I highly recommend it, mellon. It's achingly beautiful, and the scope of outer space at large put me in mind of this story. Until next year, mellon muin nin, at least on this story :) Kaylee Arafinwiel Author Reply: And I rejoice each time someone expresses how much they enjoy this! Thanks so, Kaylee! And I'll have to see Gravity now.

Nice! I should try such a trick with my scope... the trickier part will be finding a group of people who would get it! Author Reply: Oh, I agree! This one was a delight to write, I found. The Master has had a good deal of influence on how many of us view the universe, at least! Heh! Again, thanks so for enjoying this collection!

Just completing my yearly tradition! *raises cup of Lucerne light eggnog, which I am sure doesn't have alcohol in it* To the Professor! May this new year be bright and beautiful for you, Larner! Thank you for writing such a wonderful story, and thanks to SoA I come back to it again and again!! With much love and admiration, dear friend, Kaylee Arafinwiel Author Reply: And thank you. My newest birthday present for the Master was just posted in "Another Moment," so enjoy!

I'm pretty sure I have reviewed this, Larner, but if I haven't, I'm doing it now. I adore this story, not so much for its humour (it has some, of a gentler sort than the last few, thank the Valar as I was about to expire LOL!) but for fulfilling my wish that I could see that...I can see it all in my mind's eye. Maybe this coming January I'll look through my sister's telescope... Exquisitely done, Larner. Kaylee Author Reply: It's always delightful when people reread a story and let me know! I'd so love to see this happening myself, after all! And the Master deserved this as a birthday gift, I thought!
