Gritting my teeth here. First Legolas wasn't able to say what he should have, then he didn't push it when he could have. Grrr. And now I'm worried about Glilavan again. At least Dolgailon seems to check out all the angles, even if he doesn't believe or want them to be true.

Well, I don't like Glilavan, I hope that he understands that his Father will be between Legolas and the traitors, and he is risking his Father life. Excellent chapter and can't wait for more. Thank you Author Reply: You've got the right instincts about Glilavan then. He is going to be the source of quite a bit of trouble from here on out. He doesn't understand enough, that is certain. Gald you are enjoying, and thanks so much for the reviews!

Plot keeps tightening. I am not sure I like the manner in which Glilavan managed the incident, there is something that always makes me grimace about him, so good job there. His keeping bad companies is going to be a pain... for Dolgailon, sooner or later. Speaking of the troop Commander, I really liked how Dolgailon made his point come across. And I think that Anastor and his sidekick are far more trouble anyone deserves! Author Reply: Glilavan is definitely going to be the cause of a lot of pain from here on out. You are right there. Glad you liked Dolgailon's discussion. I had fun writing that. It will come back to bite him though. Anastor is about to be more trouble. He's the type my parents would have told not to come around anymore! Thanks so much for the reviews! I appreciate them so much!

The conversation between Tulus and Glilavan was interesting. Sounds like Tulus is pointing out the possible consequences of Glilavan doing something stupid. I can see why Legolas finds that a bit much to deal with. I never would have thought of Dolgailon as the one to go to, but he's a good choice, though he doesn't really need another burden added to the pile right now. Poor guy. And he's sharp enough to see that something's not right here. So now what? And speaking of doing something stupid, here we are with the kids and the practice swords. And if I were to give anyone in this chapter a smack, it would be Anastor. What a little weasel to involve Legolas. Though I suppose he was involved the last time they "practiced." Still, good for Legolas for speaking up. I wouldn't have expected him to say anything more than he did, but the stuff about how he can't have an officer think him untrustworthy is a good point. And thank Eru for Nana as an aid to telling Adar! Inspired (and traditional) choice for a son in trouble. Author Reply: That conversation, and the one it inspired Dolgailon to have with them, will have a much bigger role in the next part. It is set up that needed to go here in order to be used later. I'm amused you wouldn't have thought to go to Dolgailon. Very true. An easier out for Legolas. And a somewhat legitimate person to seek help from, since his is now troop commander. But not really the best choice, is he? Now what? Exactly. Gonna have to wait for the next story for that. Sorry. You thought Anastor was bad in this chapter. Wait for the next one. He's going to really go right over the top there. Inspired (and traditional) choice for a son in trouble. I bet you know that from experience. :-) You write boys well for a very good reason! :-) Thanks so much for the reviews, daw! I really appreciate them!

Great chapter! I can't wait to read more. I loved the part about Legolas' sketches Author Reply: Thanks! I'm glad you are enjoying it. And I'm glad you like the part with the sketches. I like to think these elves have some creative outlets, even in a scary place like Mirkwood. :-) Thanks so much for the reviews! I appreciate them so much!
