I just wanted to let you know that I just finished reading your work yet another fun time This is a great story with angst, happiness, horror and fun all rolled up into one. I do hope one day that you have time to finish it. Thank you for sharing your talent with us.

I must say this is a much lighter chapter considering the nature and level of gloom of the others. I was so glad that Gimli reminded Legolas not to think like a man and still find it shocking how others might think less of Durfinwen now that she is no longer pure AND that her Lordthought so too for a brief moment. In the beginning I was against it, but now I think Legolas and Durfinwen would make a sweet pairing. Considering what thex have been through I think they are just what each other needs. BUT I did notice the slight reluctance Durfinwen had when Legolas told her what he believes his dreams ment to him. Then again, thinking of what the poor ellith went through with the male species recently I dont blame her. I cant help but wonder if Bandobras' spirit is still there guiding Tamin to be the best esquire he can be and chiding him for not folding his masters clothes right ;-] It saddens me thinking this story is coming to an end and I really hope there is a nagging little plot bunny bouncing around in your head somewhere giving you great ideas. Really well written and congratulations on keeping your readers so hooked. Not many authors get that right. Hope to go through this year reading more of your stories. You are right on both counts - Durfinwen has simply been too abused to lightly accept any suit, Legolas', Bard's, or anyone's. And Tamin is definitely hearing voices! Chapter 34 is FINALLY up. Took me long enough, didn't it!

I also wanted to say that I really liked the symmetry of this line: “Convalesce here if you like; but I require you in Ithilien. I refuse to share you with my Lady Mother any longer.” How much has changed since Legolas said this towards the start. Author Reply: Thank you for your review, eucalyptus; and I apologize for how long it's taken me to get back to you! Yes, a lot has changed since the beginning of this tale (in RL as well as in fanfic). Legolas and Durfinwen are very different people now. But Chapter 34 is up, and 35 in the works; hopefully we can see the light at the end of the tunnel now.

This chapter was well worth all the horror of the previous chapters. Very beautifully written. It was nice to see Legolas restore some of Durfinwen's spirit -- and his own in the process. She is truly a special character, and this story has been an absolute joy to read.

Finally! ;) Good, stolid Gimli! Wise Thranduil - to speak so to Gimli. Wise Legolas - to realize that he had obligations ("was busy"), and that Valinor would have to wait. There were some lovely bits of humor throughout this chapter, from Tamin chivvying Legolas to the tale of his defiance towards Baranil. Yes, indeedy, this whole misadventure has been a growing up experience for Tamin, in more ways than one. I also enjoyed the hangover-related humor ("parboiled liver"? LOL!), and the flirting of the Dwarves... all great fun. But Legolas and Dúrfinwen-! Do I see a glimmer of hope there? Such speeches Legolas made to her! Calling her an equal! And this: “My dreams sent me not to the east to find Muhk, Anóriel,” he said slowly. “They sent me to find you, and I will be damned if I let you slip away, now that you are safely to shore.” My, my, if that wasn't telling... But wait-! Dúrfinwen had "reluctant comprehension" in her eyes? Uh-oh. Methinks this is going to take some time and effort, to win her over. (If ever - sob!) The big interesting question, at this point, revolves around Dúrfinwen's future role in Legolas' court. There seems to be some sort of presumption that everyone - including the Men of Gondor - will know her "status", despite Legolas' vow to keep her "sad secret". Huh? Among the Elves, one might guess that there would be some sign (such as that which lets other Elves know that one is wed) of her loss of purity (as it has been put). So presumably she cannot be reinstated as "maid" in Legolas' court - yet some position has to be found. Yet if she is no longer (officially - as in rank, position, title) a "maid", then how does that square with Legolas' promise to protect her secret? Although the Elves will surely know, one does not see them as being gossips (at least not to the Men); if any were tempted, they certainly would not want to risk Legolas' wrath. So how and why the presumption that the Men will inevitably know, and (mis)judge her? Is there some change in title, or manner of hair or dress, that would signal such things to them? There are some delicious possibilities ahead for the next story, I see, if Dúrfinwen returns to Legolas' court - especially if they all attend Arwen's Winter Ball, which presumably takes place in Minas Tirith. (I hope to see Seimiel in her red gown!) Perhaps some drunken oaf of a Man makes some disparaging comment, and the Green Knight, in defense of Dúrfinwen's honor, challenges him on it. Oh, this could be good! rubs hands Author Reply: Hello, Calenharn! First of all, I'm sorry it's taken me so long to not only post a new chapter, but to reply to your review. Real Life came at me with a two-by-four. But I'm back and writing; I'm hoping to have this wrapped up by summer. You're right; Durfinwen is reluctant, and rightly so. But if you'll recall from Chapter 9, in Legolas' dream he was "looking for her" - though at the time he had no idea for whom he searched, he finally realized it was Durfinwen, not Renna, that Radagast sent him to find. Why the wizard wanted Princess Anoriel found is up to debate! Don't worry; I know exactly what's going to become of the poor ellith! Thanks for the review, and I hope you enjoy Ch. 34!

Le Rouret, what a wonderful chapter, to see everybody getting back to "normality". I still hae my hopes of Legolas and Durfinwen, only because a long time ago, we did take a vote for them. is nothing more than a glorified comma inserter Your writing is brilliant, m'dear. I enjoyed this chapter. It is good to see Legolas realizing that he's too busy to sail, and giving Durfinwen her place back. I'm sure she still has a very long hard road ahead of her. I would be sad to see her choose mortality though it would be understandable after ALL YOU'VE PUT HER THROUGH!!!! Ahem.... Tamin was delightful. It was such a joy to see him being hobbity. I guess Bandobras' sob teaching did sink in after all. So... when's the wedding? ducks and runs Can't wait to see chapter 34! This is a fabulous story, one I read again and again. :)
