| I always squeak happily when I find an update for this story, Dreamflower! I love the whole idea that one of the Maia would have fallen in love with a hobbit (who wouldn't?). She certainly has a sense of mischief but perhaps she wants the Elves and hobbits to get to know each other. Author Reply: "perhaps she wants the Elves and hobbits to get to know each other." | That's interesting! I did not expect her to do that! There might be two reasons: She wanted to protect Tuk (unconsciously!), or she wanted the hobbits and elves to meet and come to know each other better. Let's see what will be the outcome! | So glad you've updated this! I think what I liked most about this installment was Mirime's "spirit of mischief," which immediately added something fresh and almost youthful to her character--it was unexpected, but it fit her, the way that any Powers should be simultaneously familiar and strange. I also like the fact that she did something proactive... though what it will lead to I guess I'll have to wait and find out! Author Reply: Yes, Mireme rather surprised me, as well! I am learning about her as I go, and she is revealing some interesting personality traits! | |
