It is interesting that Arwen planted mellyrn within Minas Tirith, and that Legolas would think to place one beneath Aragorn's hand. The imagery is lovely.

Wow, this was so beautiful. The end was so sad. I love elves, but immortality must be very hard to endure when you have mortal friends who pass away. Did you make up the song or was that in the appendices? I can't remember. Anyway, good job. The language is very well written! Author Reply: Thank you! Yeah, I've visited this theme - the shortness of mortal lives as seen by the Elves again and agian. It fascinates me. I'm 99.9% confident I made up the song (partly because I'm sure I would have credited it otherwise) but after a couple of years I just can't remember.

That is lovely; suitably solemn and thoughtful. Author Reply: Thank you! I am fascinted by the interplay between Elves and Men - particularly how the Elves see the Men. I think Tolkien shows Legolas's wonderment and lack of absolute understanding very well.
