Absolutely lyrical. And so it ever is with children!

Sleeping children are always a joy to behold (especially if they're one's own...) and you have captured them beautifully here. I can completely identify with Eowyn's motherly feelings, the wish to hold on and the willingness to let go. Author Reply: It's great to see this review, Virtuella. I'm not a mother and am always a bit nervous writing about maternal/paternal bonds; since I have to work on observation and good guesses. Thanx for reading and commenting!

Eowyn's grown up a bit, hasn't she! She was pretty self-obsessed when we first met her. Obviously living with Faramir is good for the brain. As well as the rest of one. Author Reply: I definitely agree that Eowyn was more self-centered than Faramir. And living with Faramir would do anyone good! I think she is capable of deep love, but not very good at verbally expressing it; though in this more peaceful Age, I think she has mellowed a bit. Thanx for reading and reviewing, Nesta!

What a lovely insight into Éowyn; and a lovely moment captured in your words, if not hers! Author Reply: I'm glad you liked the piece, Wombat; I did enjoy exploring Eowyn's softer side. Thanks for the review!

you are each a victory as great as any feat of arms. That's so true. A world in which children can grow up loved and safe... what better victory? Author Reply: Although I don't think Eowyn realized it at the time, that is what she and all the others fought for in the Ring War. And now she gets to cherish the victory! Thanx for reading and reviewing, Shirebound.

What a delightful glimpse of Eowyn and her chilren.A lovely glimpse of Eowyn as a mother. Author Reply: Thanx, Linda; it was indeed meant to be both a verbal snapshot and an exploration of Eowyn's maternal emotions...
