I am always happy to see anything that you write, Clodia, but this is a little gem. Before Goldberry is Tom's companion (but after Farmer Maggot since Tom mentions his mushrooms - I assume this was an ancestor of the late 3rd age Farmer Maggot?) she was a little flirt. And taking his feather hat along with her down the river. Perfect! - Erulisse (one L) Author Reply: Ahaha, ooops, yes I guess Farmer Maggot's family goes back a very long way. Maybe not that far, though. Well spotted, I may have to tweak that. And I'm so glad you like this! I do have a soft spot for Tom and Goldberry, although I know it's a minority viewpoint. ^^

I love the language here, and that Tom is so completely unsuccessful! How did he win Goldberry's affection? Author Reply: You know, I'm not sure; but I'm tempted now to write more snippets from down the Withywindle to find out... I'm glad you like this, anyway! Thanks for reading. ^^

I love this skirmish in love between Tom and Goldberry, and the delightful reflection of their disparate but complementary natures. Ecellent! Author Reply: Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it, as ever! It was fun to write. ^^
