| the delightful prospect of tormenting one cantankerous old dragon with another LOL!!! That's what I expected when I read "Hardbottle" ;-) I enjoyed this funny little story a great deal. Sam's voice was perfect. And Bilbo was wonderful. Bilbo winked and Sam giggled, marvelling at the easy way in which Mr Bilbo always managed to put a person at their ease. Author Reply: Hello Andrea! | What a delight! Dear Sam and wonderful Mr. Bilbo, they're such great friends. It's a perfect gift, and Bilbo accepted it with perfect grace and joy. Author Reply: Hello shirebound, I'd like to think Sam and Bilbo are good friends too. Bilbo was a huge influence on the youngster; learning him his letters and indulging his love of adventurous tales of elves and such. Very valuable lessons too, given what Sam achieved in later life!
