| Ah! I love competent capable hobbits! Trotter certainly dealt with those thieves - and tied them up so well. And he managed to retrieve those mushrooms! | But Trotter had something else on his mind. He went over to where he had emptied the bags, and sighed with relief. His bounty was undisturbed. Hobbits! When it comes to mushrooms they forget everything else! I very much enjoyed how Trotter proved to be as good a ranger as the men. And what's even better, he used hobbit techniques to capture the ruffians. Very well done, Trotter :-) P.S.: I've never heard the expression "treed" before. Does it mean trapped on a tree? Author Reply: To answer your question first: yes, that's exactly what it means, usually used when dogs are hunting, and trap their prey up a tree-- most often in this country when hunting racoons or possums. I'm glad you enjoyed Trotter's obssession with the mushrooms! I had fun with that. And I also liked the idea that he was using hobbity means to his end! | |
