A great story and a nice attempt by Aragorn to distract Pippin from ... the "spirit-folk". Especially for Merry and Pippin it must have been reassuring that even great warriors like Aragorn and Legolas played pranks on Lord Elrond when they were younger. This particular prank was really spectacular :-) Author Reply: Heh, glad you liked it! It really wasn't easy for me to come up with something I could envision a young Estel doing.

A fascinating AU story here, one I can well imagine happening had they indeed begun the quest so early. And love the weaving in of the historical practices of our own ancestors! Well, well done! Author Reply: Thank you so much, Larner! I had a great deal of fun researching all the traditions and I'm glad they were apparent to you in the story. *Hugs*

Chuckles......a very nice tale for such a night! My thanks for giving the guys something amusing to take their minds briefly away from the quest! :) Author Reply: *Grin* Thank you, Teresa! It's always great to hear that someone has enjoyed one of my tales!!

I enjoyed the hobbits bickering, contradicting each other, and generally confusing things. Elrond shook his head. “My troubles have names. They are called Estel and Legolas. And quite possibly, Elladan and Elrohir.” -- But at least he isn't bored! “And Galion is an Onodrim, you say?" -- The Ents as a whole are the Onodrim (class plural). A single Ent -- or in this case, Galion -- is an Onod (singular). More than one Ent (but not every Ent in the world), and you have Enyd (simple plural). [Cf. the Encyclopedia of Arda, "Ents," "Onodrim," "Enyd."] http://www.glyphweb.com/arda/ Re the plural of elleth, ellith is correct. Apparently ellyth was used in the early days of online fanfiction; I've forgotten the details, but I think I remember seeing Nilmandra or boz4PM explain the correction as early as 2003 or 2004 in one of their fics. Here's the best online Sindarin dictionary: http://www.jrrvf.com/hisweloke/sindar/online/english.html Use A1 for Sindarin-English and A2 for English-Sindarin. A3 is useful if you need all the words for trees, birds, etc. Author Reply: Thank you so much eiluj - for the kind comments and most especially for the information! I always strive to get everything as correct as I can, and so this information is very helpful. It is going into my folder and I will go ahead and edit that part. Thank you for taking the time to include it!!
