Ingoldo is sowing his own seeds well, isn't he? Yecch! Poor Ingwe and Ingwion, as they will be the ones who will have to deal with the aftermath. So now Ingoldo is beginning his attack. Ingalaurë is right to have fear of him. Unfortunately, the seed of doubt has been planted. Only time will tell if Ingalaurë is wise enough to see thru his uncle's clever words. Author Reply: You're right, Tari. Ingoldo is laying plans and Ingalaurë will figure prominently in those plans, though he doesn't know this. How it all plays out will be revealed eventually. Thanks for reading and reviewing. A good story really needs a good villain. Though perhaps "good" may not be quite the right word here - the sort of villain that we all can love to hate. ;-) I know - there is always Mogoth, but in this case he is perhaps a bit too elemental, IYKWIM. Good thing I am so fond of SF and Fantasy - if necessary i can dwell on a favorite Bad Ending from a book and picture Ingoldo in the middle of that. Author Reply: Hi Sunny. I agree. Villians have to as interesting as the heroes or what's the point? I'm glad you think Ingoldo fits the bill. I try to make my villians as three-dimensional as my heroes, with both good and bad points. Thanks for reading and reviewing. I appreciate it.

What a mess! The queen needs to snap and take control. IMO, Ingoldo is wort than Feanor, at least, Feanor i snothing but sincere, he is not working in the shadowa and everybody knows what to expect while Ingoldo is a perfect intriguant. Author Reply: Hi Fantasia. I agree that it is a mess and Elindis needs to get a grip. We'll see in the next chapter what Ingalaurë does to convince his mother to take charge before Ingoldo does. And Ingoldo is sneaky, whereas Fëanáro is right out front. It's easier to confront the latter than the former, which is why in many ways Ingoldo is more dangerous than Fëanáro. Excuse me while I go brush my brain, Ingoldo has left a nasty taste in my mind! Just what was Atar thinking of when he created Ingoldo, must have been an off day. Poor Ingalure, everything he has been dreaming about and thinking of coming to the fore, Ingoldo has been taking lessons from Morgoth on how to intimidate people and coerce them into doing what he wants. What would happen if he does convince Ingalure to take the throne, just how long would Ingalure last before Ingoldo took over, methinks the first Kinslaying would not have been in Alqualonde and it would not have been Feanor's followers who did it! Time to come home Ingwe, let Feanor and Nolofinwe fight their own battles, though I think Nolofinwe will be only too happy to hand the throne over to his brother! Huggs, Lynda Author Reply: Hi Lynda. LOL! I always had to have a good brain scrub after dealing with Melkor. Ingoldo isn't even in his class, or Sauron's, but he is a sneaky so-and-so, isn't he? We will see what happens with Ingalaurë and how he deals (or doesn't) with his uncle in subsequent chapters. And we will see soon enough what is happening in Tirion and what Ingwë's role in all this is. Thanks for reading and reviewing. It's greatly appreciated.

Oh, Atto! It looks like Ingoldo is up to his tricks again...Valandur should really keep a closer eye on him and Ingalaure. Valandur's right...Ingwe, or at least Ingwion, needs to come home. Ingoldo is in no way right of course. Hm...I saw Sitara's remark. If Feanaro was barred from the throne, would that mean Nelyo, too, was at this time? He did willingly give the crown to Nolofinwe later, though, didn't he? Poor, poor Ingil...oh, and the little bit between Olorin and Valandur was very interesting! Things just keep getting better and better. Tye-melin! Kaylee Author Reply: Hi Kaylee. Yes, Ingoldo is up to something and we'll see what that is soon enough. I think Ingalaurë made an assumption that because Fëanáro's sons went into exile with him and Nelyo did not remain behind to act as regent as the next in line to the throne, but that Ñolofinwë was acting as regent, that the crown properly belongs to Ñolofinwë rather than to Nelyo. Of course, that is what happens in Beleriand, but here in Aman, that expectation is false on Ingalaurë's part. It's more wishful thinking than anything. Still, I suspect that in the minds of many of the Elves, especially the Vanyar, that's how they see it: that Ñolofinwë should have the crown. I'm glad you found the bit between Olórin and Valandur interesting. I think we see another side of our favorite Maia that isn't always evident. Thanks for reading and reviewing. Tye-melin!

I don't like Ingoldo - you already know that - but I do like the way you write him. I like how you describe his character and behavior; so well done! Author Reply: I've been re-reading this story and realized I never responded to your review for this chapter. My bad. I'm glad you liked the way I wrote Ingoldo, his character and behavior. Writing a villain who is not a Snidely Whiplash-like caricature of a baddie is not easy. Too often writers make the mistake of making their villain so villanous you can't relate to them at all and if you can't relate to them, you can't care enough about them to find out what happens to them, even if you're hoping they come to a bad end. Anyway, thanks for reivewing. I appreciate it.

You gotta love Ingoldo. He always manages to find a reason to be happy and cheerful, no matter what. Woe betide them all only his little plot be successful. This one could give lessons of darkness to Melkor himself and I'm beginning to ask myself what family traits would share Ingwë, Ingoldo and Indis. "grin" On the other hand, it seems that Valandur is another one who thinks the Valar are currently sitting in their chairs and busy themselves with wringing their hands. Interesting. And he's right, of course. I cannot think of any reason for which Fëanáro would give a damn about what the High King of the Eldar has to say. Oh, and by the way, I should correct Ingalaurë: the next one in line for the throne is Nelyafinwë, not Nolofinwë. "chuckle". In fact, for accuracy's sake, Nolofinwë would about the tenth in line to the Noldorin throne, counting Telperinquar as well. As much as I'm far from being fond of the Vanyarin royal family, I've to say that it's a pity to see Ingalaurë falling victim to his uncle's machinations. And somehow I have the feeling that Fëanáro would be getting the blame for this too..."growl" Author Reply: Hi Sitara. Yes, Ingoldo is one of those people: cheerful no mater what and you just want to strangle them sometimes. LOL! Valandur is probably not the only Elf who thinks the Valar aren't doing enough, but he is wise enough to know that things are not always as they seem on the surface. Naturally, he's upset and frustrated and takes it out on poor Olórin. And of course he's correct about Fëanáro: with the death of his father and the Silmarils missing, all bets are off as far as he is concerned. Naturally, Nelyafinwë would be the next in line, but Ingalaurë, I think, 'sees' Ñolofinwë as the proper king of the Noldor be virtue of already being regent. It's wishful thinking on his part, of course, but I wouldn't be surprised if many of the Vanyar thought the same, believing that when Fëanáro's sons followed him and Finwë (who declared himself 'unkinged') into exile that they lost the right to the crown as well. We know that eventually that does happen, but in Beleriand, not in Aman. And I assure you that Fëanáro won't be blamed for Ingalaurë falling victim to Ingoldo's machinations (assuming that he actually does). Blame will fall where it properly belongs. Not even Ingwë is so stupid as to blame Fëanáro for everything bad that happens. grin Thanks for reading and reviewing. I hope you are getting better.
