The birthdates of all the Kings and Stewards are in the History of Middle Earth Volume XII. It took me over an hour but I added all the dates to wikipedia, only to see many of them deleted as the articles themselves weren't noteworthy enough. Some of the dates have survived in amalgamated pages, but some, especially the early Stewards are missing. Author Reply: Thanks. I haven't read the whole HoME yet, but I have it at home and it's good to know where I can find all that data. Btw, in the story, I changed "son" to "brother" and I think it's acceptable that way.

I just loved this story! I've always loved the White Tree and have written several stories about it, but never about its origin.I think Tolkien mentioned in his letters that the King took the first fruits to offer to Eru at the hollow and Aragorn revived the custom, an idea I used in one of my stories. I wish we had a magical tree like this in our world! I like your Mardil as so many stories portray him as a schemer, eager to be rid of Earnur, which strikes me as unfair to Tolkien's vision. Author Reply: I've never read Letters, so I don't know anything about offering the fruits to Eru; if you have written about it in some of your older stories, I am curious about it, so send me the link. ;) I don't believe that Mardil wanted to get rid of Earnur. From what I've read in the Appendices, Mardil and Earnil were calm, wise men, while Earnur was impulsive and hot-tempered, so I also described them in that way. Thank you for your compliments! :)

I really enjoyed this story, there are so many theories as to when the tree was planted and this is probably the best. I would like to point out though that Earnur was born in 1928, whereas Mardil was born in 1960 making him 32 years younger than the king. Author Reply: Ooops! *blush* I *did* search for they birth dates, but I couldn't find Mardil's. And as I knew that he had been Earnil's Steward before Earnur, I came to conclusion that he was older. When I find some time (these days my RL is really crazy and soooo busy), I'll fix those few sentences that mention their age. Thanks for pointing that out. ;) Btw, where did you find it? It's good to know for more LotR resources. Thanks for reading and reviewing, I am glad you like this. :)
