| Stumbled upon this today and really enjoyed it. I do so admire well done drabbles. This is lovely. I could see this in my mind as I read it and the sense of foreboding in it was very well done. It has a very nice feel to it if that makes sense. Author Reply: Thank you so much! I have missed fanfic these past months... sure wish that RL would allow more time for reading *and* writing. (As it is, I have almost no time unless I stay up after everyone else is in bed, and then I'm a wreck in the morning. But tomorrow's a holiday, so at least I can sleep in.) It makes perfect sense, by the way. Often the "feel" of a story stays with me, way longer than the actual words. | |

| Oh, but a most proper of titles, double meaning and all! Very apropos, I know. And Frodo must at times have dreaded these migrations, knowing they aggravated Bilbo's wanderlust so. Author Reply: Very belated reply, but just wanted you to know how I appreciate your thoughtful response. My dad suffered greatly from wanderlust, though it was always the geese in spring and autumn that set him off. | |

| Beautiful image! The swifts, however, always return in the summer, which Bilbo did not. But still, Frodo and Bilbo met again and went on their last, greatest journey together. I like to watch and listen to the swifts myself and am always a little sad when they leave. Author Reply: I missed the swifts this year, though I thought about them at their normal time. We were just too busy to go someplace where we could sit and watch them swirl. Hopefully next year... Thanks! | |
