First, upon seeing the title, I thought somehow Éowyn had come to Bag End. (I have just been reading of her and down South.)

But yes, they didn't eat that stew, did they? But in the book I am pretty sure they did, and even if there was some left and Faramir's men ate it, if he knew about it, wouldn't he have saved some for the hobbits?

I hope that it didn't go to waste! Heh!

You know, I never thought of that! I imagine they did, and I do hope the Rangers were properly grateful!

This is such a sweet, almost wistful moment--I say "almost" because I think that Sam's easy way of talking to Rosie show how much he's already healed from Frodo's loss. Deceptively simple.

Author Reply: Celeritas, I marvel at how many layers you seem to find in these drabbles, when all I'm seeing in my head is the scene progressing out, as if watching a film. Half the time I don't see the subtext until days after the piece hit the keyboard. Thank you for helping me to see them more clearly.

Nicely described memory. :)
