I admit it: Almįriel impressed me here, and I cheered when she spoke as the first, and revealed how shrewd she was. I may yet forgive her her excessive mother-henning ;-)... And good for Ingalaurė, too. In fact, I loved the whole council scene, and how quickly Ingoldo was reduced to slinking away with his metaphorical tail between his legs. Although I suppose that might have been a front, and he quickly rallies again, nonetheless, a victory for justice was struck. And at the least, his full perfidy is laid open, and nobody believes his lies and insinuations, which I had feared might have been more successful. I would have liked to learn more about what was going through his head when he decided to personally beat his nephew blue and black. His lack of any reaction - hesitation; realisation that he was actually doing bodily harm against a fellow elf and moreover against his own nephew, that he had dared step over that line; even any show of satisfaction - would have been somehow more understandable as his cold, unfeeling, calculated action. It frightened me. I wonder just how he came to amass so much power that he was able to convince so many of the guards to go over to him. You mentioned that there are some who he is blackmailing, but even then he has to have the manpower - or at least the appearance of manpower - to be able to convince them of the validity of his threats. Seems the rot is (almost?) as deep in Vanyarin society as in Noldorin. It's just that the latter go out and spread it, whereas the former contain it among themselves. Perhaps reflective of the typical temperament of their respective people. Author Reply: I told you Almįriel would redeeem herself. *grin* And I think Ingoldo has been working behind the scenes for a very long time, amassing the power that he has, waiting for his chance. I don't think he's really all that sane myself, but that's just my opinion. Anyway, thanks for reviewing, Imhiriel. I appreciate it very much.

Ingoldo may be down, but he is definitely not out. It is good that everyone will remain on high alert where he is concerned. Nornoros did a good job and should be rewarded not punished. Author Reply: You're right about Ingoldo, Tari, as we will see. And we will also see how Nornoros fares in a later chapter. Thanks for reading and reviewing. I really appreciate it.

Ah--good for both the Maia and for Ingalaure. Both did exactly the right thing. I believe Atar is most pleased with the two of them! Author Reply: Yes, they did, Larner, and I'm sure Atar is pleased with the two of them as well. Thanks for reading and reviewing. I appreciate it.

Finally, someone stood up to Ingoldo. I am especially happy that it is Ingalaure, even if he got a bit help from a Maia. I sure hope that one is not in too much trouble. It must have been very difficult for him to just stand by. So, what is Ingoldo up to now. I don't think he is beaten yet. He backed down too easily. He still has lots of guards around, and as we have seen in the beginning of the chapter, there are characters that only care for what they are paid. I hope someone gives Ingoldo something of his own medicine. Beating Ingalaure so calculated made me feel sick. By the way, shouldn't the title be "Ingalaure Alone" instead of "Ingaluare Alone" (sorry, I don't have the special characters)? Author Reply: Hi obsidianj. I can't believe I didn't realize I'd misspelled Ingalaurė's name in the title. Thanks for pointing it out to me. Anyway, Ingoldo may be down but not out and we will see just how much power he still has in the next chapter and we will also see how much trouble Nornoros is in in the chapter after. As for Ingoldo getting his comeuppance, we'll see inn what form that takes as well. Thanks for reading and reviewing. I appreciate it very much.

Hmm...I think Almariel has just become my new favorite OC. Certainly my favorite OFC....:) One smart ellith. I love the fact that the Maiar are just kinda taking things into their own hands to help out the elves. The Valar can say they're not showing favoritism, and the elves can still get the help they need. Ingalaure is doing an amazing job right now, but its sad to think its not going to last, and that he's going to die trying to do what he thinks is right. At least I assume thats how he dies, though I can't think its a Ingoldo's hands, or orders. He'd never be on any sort of terms with Ingwe if that was the case. Anyway, great chapter as always, and can't wait to see what character we'll be following Monday! We've had Intarion, Ingalaure, is the next chapter "Ingwion alone"? Author Reply: Hi AzureSkye. Almįriel has many faults but she knows which way is up, as the saying goes. We'll be staying with Ingalaurė for a little bit longer before we check in with Ingwion. And we will eventually learn the manner in which Ingalaurė dies but that is still many chapters away. Thanks for letting me know much you enjoyed the chapter. I really appreciate it.

Hurrah! Well done! I was so tired of Ingoldo doing all his evil plans without opposition, I'm so happy for Ingalaurė! And so happy that the council supported him. Poor Ingalaurė, to be beaten by his own uncle in such a calculated way. I know that you have told me before, repeatedly, that time has passed since this event and EI, but I can't comprehend how Ingoldo was allowed to even being close to the royal family again. If Nornoros needs someone to intercede with Manwe to avoid punishment, I voluntary to do it, I can start collecting signatures or going in peregrinate to his throne, it was time that some Vala did something. I don't like the passive approach that the Valars are taking...I know, I know, but all the extremes are bad. Thanks Fiondil, as usual a great chapter. Author Reply: Hi Fantasia. We will eventually see how Ingoldo is handled and what is crimes actually are and maybe you will then understand how he could be living in Vanyamar as he is in EI. And I'm sure Nornoros appreciates your kind offer to help defend him. *grin* Thanks for reading and reviewing. I appreciate it very much.

Woo! Hoo! Jumps up and down and Yells! Way to go Ingalure! Like most bullies, when you stand up to them they back off. The Rat may have had the upper hand for a bit but I think his time is swiftly fleeting! Ratty may still have a few tricks up his sleeve and pretty nasty ones if the end of E.I.11 is any thing to go by, but I think this is the begining of the end for him. Way to go Nornoros! You may end up cleaning out Aule's forges for a few Yen for 'inspiring' Ingalure to act, but I think you will think it worth while. Huggs, Lynda Author Reply: Hi Lynda. Don't count Ingoldo out, he is one who always has contingency plans for contingency plans, if you know what I mean. We'll be seeing how Nornoros is punished (if at all) shortly. Thanks for reading and reviewing. I appreciate it.

Oh boy tht was one tense council meeting, you had me on the edge of my seat.I am so glad that Ingalaurė stood up to his uncle,I hope the Ingwe comes back soon, very soon! As for Almįriel I can see why she is on the council.you don't want to make an emney of her.I hope that Nornoros dosen't get into to much trouble, for helping Ingalaure. Can't we use a rolling pin on Ingoldo put him in a cupboard until the end of the story? Just a thought. When is the next chapter?LOL Galathil. Author Reply: Hi Galathil. I'm glad to know you found the council meeting scene tense. That was my intention as I wrote it. We'll see how much trouble Nornoros is in eventually, but he's probably not in as much trouble as he thinks. Anyway, I post this story every Monday and Friday, so you won't have long to wait for the next chapter. Thanks for taking the time to read and review. I appreciate it very much.

urrg! I want to punch Ingoldo too! I“m glad that Ingalaurė found the courage to stand against his uncle even if not entirerly of his own doing. What made me wonder was the easy relenting of Ingoldo. I had expected him to have some trump card behind his back to make the council back down at the last moment. We will see. Really good and thrilling chapter. Liked it very much. Lai Author Reply: Hi Lai. Yeah, I'm sure lots of people want to punch the slimy toad. LOL! Don't count Ingoldo out, though. He may have lost this battle but not necessarily the war, as they say. He has more than one trump card to play yet as we will learn in the next chapter. Glad you found this chapter thrilling. Thanks for letting me know. I really appreciate it.
