I found this here and so decided to leave a review. What did poor Ingil do that he had to die!!!! (It isn't fair that he should die and Ingoldo should live) Author Reply: Hi AmazingWriter. When I wrote this story, I had already established in my "Elf, Interrupted" series that Ingalaurė had died in the aftermath of the Darkening, though I give no details in that story, so I really had no choice in the matter. Still, being an Elf, he will eventually be re-embodied and returned to his family.

Author Reply: Hi obsidianj. There is much to mourn here. And while he was no match for Ingoldo Ingalaurė did his best to do what was right and that is all that really matters in the end. As for Ingoldo's machinations, we will see eventually how that all is explained and how he pays for it. Thanks for taking the time to read and review. I much appreciate it. OH, NO!!!! It should have been Ingoldo that fell off the tower, not Ingil. This is so tragic. His brother will be devastated. Author Reply: Unfortunately, it wasn't, and we all knew this was coming. And we'll see just how devastated Ingwion is in subsequent chapters. Thanks for reading and reviewing, Tari. I appreciate it very much.

D= I knew it was coming but still... D= Author Reply: I know what you mean, bookworm, and it wasn't easy for me to write this (or the next chapter) and I dreaded having to.

I have seen it coming that it was a trap. Ingil why are you so naive? oh no! And now it has happened and Ingoldo will get away with this. Please not, don“t be so cruel with your readers. A sad but as always gripping chapter. Thank you. Lai Author Reply: Hi Lai. Yes, it was a trap and no, Ingil is just naive enough not to foresee it, though in the end he did suspect that perhaps it was. As for Ingoldo, we will see what happens to him eventually. Thanks for reading and reviewing. I really appreciate it.

And now two are dead, and Ingwion apparently saw his brother's fall. It will go the worse for Ingoldo because of it, I suspect. Author Reply: Yes, two are dead. Ingwion didn't quite see his brother fall, at least not all the way. Valandur made him look away at the last minute, but that doesn't really help. As for Ingoldo... only time will tell. Thanks for reading and reviewing, Larner. I quite appreciate it.

Dearest Fiondil, I hope that you had as lovely a holiday as my Darling Man and I had at A Long Expected Party 2: There and Back Again. I wish that you could have been there with us! And so the event that we have all known was coming is upon us. I am of mixed feelings as I contemplate the way that the chapter ends. I feel so badly for Nornoros, and for Namo as well. There are simply some things that MUST be. *sniffle* Inglaure has not replaced Ingwion in my heart, but has joined his twin there. So I grieve the events that this chapter reports. Even knowing that he will be reborn into innocence and a new life does not make this any easier to bear. Being a twin myself, Ingil's death strikes me extra hard. (And I even feel bad for that guard who ended up being killed in Inglaure's place, when Inglaure figured out it was a trap.) The only person that I find that I cannot forgive their actions is Ingoldo. I cannot see any mitigating aspects to any of his plots, plans and actions. And while I suppose he technically could not be convicted of outright kinslaying in the case of Inglaure's death--since it is apparent that Inglaure dies from the fall, and not directly at Ingoldo's hand--it is very obvious that Ingold has no compunction about arranging the murder of his nephew. I still don't understand how it is that Ingoldo could do these things (practically usurp Ingwe's throne, threaten the lives and safety of his own blood kin, and to cause others to become Kinslayers on his behalf) and still end up living in Vanyamar in relative freedom with his wife, and still with a fair degree of influence in the time of Elf Interrupted, Parts 1 and 2. I'm looking forward to Friday's chapter, to start finding out just what will happen next. It most certainly will be a time of grief and devastation for Ingwe, his wife, and Ingwion, but I'm holding on to the hope that you promise when you say that the ending will lighten up somewhat. And I think I'm going to go back and reread EI2 and ALEW tomorrow to cheer myself back up. Well done, as always, dear friend! Author Reply: Hello Rhyselle. Glad you and your husband had a great time at ALEP2. Perhaps next year I'll be able to join you. This chapter was long foreseen, of course, but it makes it no less difficult to read (or to write). I'm glad Ingalaure has found a place in your heart as he has found in mine. Even as I was writing this story, I grieved for his fate and wished it could've been otherwise, but perhaps it is for the best, however hard, knowing that he has been restored to the innocence that he had before Ingoldo destroyed it. As for Ingoldo himself, it will be shown in what manner he is punished and why we see him and Tinwetariel in Elf, Interrupted causing more trouble. And I'm glad you have EI2 and ALEW to help cheer you up. *grin* Thanks for reading and reviewing, meldenya. I appreciate you taking the time to do so very much.

Been thinking, yes, I know, bad idea,(:)) you know Ratty is going to be able to wriggle out of the charge of Kinslaying don't you? If Ingalure had done what he, Ratty, wanted him to do this would never have happened? Slimey toad! Need to get Ratty and Namo together for a 'little chat' or is it too late? More Huggs, Lynda Author Reply: Hi Lynda. Ah, thinking.... such a dangerous occupation. LOL! As for how Ingoldo fares after this, remains to be seen. He won't get off scot free, I assure you, but it will explain why he is still living in Vanyamar when Glorfindel shows up in "Elf, Interrupted" and I think once you've read the remainder of this story and then go back and read the scenes between Ingwė and Ingoldo in EI, you'll understand Ingwė's references much better. And I'm afraid it's way too late for a 'little chat' with Nįmo. Thanks for your thoughts. I appreciate you sharing them with the rest of us.

Oh No! I just want to cry. I knew that it was coming, but it is painful nonetheless. I will have a comment next chapter, but for today I will mourn him. P.S: there is a Latin-American novella that has the perfect title for this: Chronicle of a Death Foretold (Cronica de una muerte anunciada) Author Reply: Hi Fantasia. That title does sound quite appropriate. It is painful -- painful to write as well as to read and the next chapter isn't any better in that regard. I am glad you will mourn Ingalaurė. He deserves our mourning. Thanks for reading and reviewing. I appreciate it.

Oh, sniffle, poor Elfling! Ratty, you S.O.B. you have a lot to answer for, this not the least! I hope Ingwion catches you and beats you to a pulp and then stomps you good! Then let's his atto have a go at you, never mind what Elindis and his sister will do to him! Beware the female of the species! Now I have to wait until Friday to find out 'What Happens Next'! Arrgh! Evil Clifee King, grumble, grumble! Huggs, Lynda p.s. Working on last dress, Yay! Author Reply: Hi Lynda. Ingoldo has indeed much to answer for, and we will see just why Ingoldo fears Ingwion, not only in the next chapter but in subsequent chapters. Sorry about the cliffie, but... hey! it keeps you coming back for more, doesn't it. *LOL!* Glad you're working on the last dress. I hope the Orclings appreciate it. Thanks for reading and reviewing. I appreciate it, as always.
