Wow, that was some powerful writing. Amazing descriptions and characterisation of the song itself - the way you've presented it as taking over his consciousness almost is perfect. The movement from actual human emotions to metaphors and descriptions of a fading world in general is a great, all consuming touch. I particularly liked the line "The song's scream erased the world and he was left all alone" - it sums up everything you've written so well! Author Reply: Thank you so much! Your compliments mean so much to me, especially because I wasn't sure if the story was ok. Positive reviews were really important to me this time. One more time - thank you. You put a big smile on my face. :)

Dear Ellynn: I think you did a fine job. This was very moving, very well written. I liked how you initially said that there was nothing Mandos was *allowed* to give her. But her song was so moving, so emotionally vivid, that it pierced the detachment of this one of the Valar, and kindled his empathy. Well done. Thanks for writing and posting it. Sincerely, Darkover Author Reply: As I said to Larner - I am really happy that readers find this moving, because I really didn't know if I wrote this well. In the beginning I thought it was good, but as time passed (better to say: as I read it over and over again, in the process of polishing the story) I was more and more unsure about it. Thank you so much for your kind words.

Indeed you managed to capture that pain and grief beyond telling, and have shown how it was that Namo himself was subverted that one time--this time with Euridice redeeming her Orpheus through her song. Author Reply: I am so glad I managed to do that. Positive reviews mean so much to me this time; it was hard to write and especially to polish this story, and I guess I read it too many times (while polishing), so I lost all objectiveness - in the end I thought it wasn't good at all. Dawn encouraged me to post this. :) Thank you for reading and reviewing.

This was just beautiful and had me as enhanced as Mandos. I'm not a big Simarillion fan, but I love Luthien's story, maybe because my beloved Aragorn is descended from her! Beautifully written! Author Reply: I also love Luthien and Beren. :) Thank you for your kind review.
