"All there watched in horror as the heir to the High King’s throne struck the Lord of Mandos with his sword." Oh dear, this does not look good for Ingwi. However, due to the circumstances I am hoping his punishment will not be severe. Author Reply: No it doesn't look good at all, Tari. LOL! But I'm sure Námo will be lenient. Ouch! Ingwion, that was not your smartest move. But who in his right mind trusts Inwion with a sword during a trial for Ingoldo, where all the sensitive issues are discussed. There is bound to be some revelation that sets Ingwion off. And sure there is. Luckily, Namo shouldn't be troubled too much by a sword. If it would be one of the other elves the story would be different and we might have had the next kinslayer on our hands. I liked the "punishment" for Ingoldo's reluctant followers. For some this probably seems to be a promotion. And it is easier to keep and eye on them when they are part of the household and under close supervision. Author Reply: No, that definitely was not a smart move. Unfortunately, Ingwë and the others aren't used to dealing with someone in Ingwion's state of mind so it was an accident waiting to happen for sure. I'm glad you liked the "punishment" meted out to Ingoldo's followers. Whether it's a promotion or not, it is certainly a second chance and that's all that's impoortant. And just why do I have the feeling that this blow striking Namo will be totally ineffective? Poror Ingwion, knowing that his uncle hated and feared him so! Love the judgment for the guards and the dead guard's family. Now to see how the Valar deal with a heartsick Ingwion. Author Reply: We'll see just how ineffective Ingwion's blow is soon enough, Larner, and we'll see how the Valar handle Ingwion as well. Glad you liked the judgment for the guards. wince ooooh dear. This isn't going to be pretty... Author Reply: No, bookworm, it's not... Don't worry, though, we know from "Elf, Interrupted" that Ingwion and Námo are still on speaking terms with one another. LOL!

Once again you make mention of stylized eagles adn you know that just bothers me. I can't think of anything but sterilized eagles. Of course this may be why the Vanyar have so few offspring if their king has an emblem with sterilized eagles. LOL! Sorry I had to comment and have been rpetty good about reminding you of this since EI when Glorfy first spotted my misread of "sterilized eagles". Author Reply: And even as I was writing this scene I was thinking of you. LOL! Besides, you already gave me your review of this chapter a long time ago so I know you just did this to tease me. I don't think either one of us is going to let the other forget about the 'sterilized eagles' any time soon. But it's not my fault that you misread it, though. Atya... curls up at Atto's feet Could this situation possibly get any worse??? Ingwi hit Lord Namo with a sword. I mean...what's that going to do to Lord Namo? What's Lord Namo going to do to him? Ingwi carrying a sword in the first place was never a good plan... But then it's all really Ratty's fault. glares at him He would have killed Ingwi if he had the chance!!! Why did he try messing with Ingil? Did he think Ingil was soft or something? Well Ingwi's definitely not, and Ratty's going to suffer for what he did, even if it's not from Ingwe. I have a feeling Lord Namo will have some words for Ratty on the subject... Sorry for not reviewing yesterday, I was at the doctor in the morning...got the referral for my neurologist that I needed, as well as some pain meds for the pain in my Achilles tendon, as well as a flu shot, so yesterday my right shoulder hurt too much to let me type comfortably when I got back. Would've reviewed before going, but there wasn't enough time. So here it is. huggles I know, I know...just two more days until I find out what happens to Ingwi and Ratty...two WHOLE days!!! hugs eagerly awaiting Monday...IDB's really the only good thing about Mondays!!! Tye-melin, Kaylee Author Reply: Hi Kaylee. I think Ingoldo considered Ingalaurë the weaker of the two twins and more easily manipulated, but that did not turn out to be true. Ingoldo, I suspect said what he did out of pure spite. As for what Námo intends to do with Ingwion... that will be seen shortly. My heart lurched as I read that Ingwe was letting Ingwion have a sword. Talk about insanity. Though I know it 'seemed' like Ingwion was doing better. But really, Ingwe. What were you thinking!!!! As for the punishment of those who were truly doing ill, the solution you gave was great. I think time with Namo would be incredibly frightening. But also - healing. If Namo takes his time with them. Sometimes I want to thrash that particular Valar. He does his best and then goes off to see a new star. g Ingwion's attack was not unexpected! But Ingoldo's diatribe. How horrid. He should have gone with Feanor. Their minds seem to be closely attuned! The fun part was the fluff of the trial setting and those attending and the crowd being around. And this one sat here and that one stood there.... ALL to keep our eyes and ears closed to what was to come. A masterful deception as you lulled us into quiescence. AND THEN LEFT US HANGING!!!! Author Reply: Hi Agape. I think everyone's heart lurched when they saw Ingwion carrying a sword. But you really can't blame Ingwë or anyone else for that matter. They've had no experience with someone not quite right in their mind (Fëanor excepted) and in a culture where one's promise is taken as sacred, Ingwion's promise to behave would be considered enough of a safeguard. Well, they've just found out it ain't so. LOL! As for Ingoldo... I think you're right and if he'd been anywhere near Tirion when Fëanor was urging the Noldor to follow him, he would've been right there, but he wasn't, and so.... (Besides, if you get rid of all the villains, there's no story to tell. grin Glad you liked the 'fluff of the trial'. I do my best to not give away too many clues as to what might come, as that would spoil the surprise (or shock). And at least I left you hanging at a good spot, front and center, and you won't have to wait too long to discover the outcome. sticks out tongue Anyway, thanks for reading and reviewing. Now, the ending of this chapter was a real doozy, O King of Cliffies! You left us hanging just as Námo was hit by Ingwion's sword strike, which was actually meant for Ingoldo. Monday can't come fast enough!! Hopefully the ones who were reluctant to abuse Ingwë will be properly rehabilitated, and later become faithful subjects of the Ingaran. But I think the others may be more problematic. I assume that the Tulcaner in this story, who so enjoyed beating up his king, is the same one as in EI, where he was one of the ones who attacked, beat up and kidnapped Glorfindel? It is clear that whatever therapy and reeducation he got did not work - on him, at least! Author Reply: Hi Sunny. Glad you liked the ending. grin And I'm sure you won't be the only one counting down the hours to Monday. LOL! Anyway, I'm sure those particular ellyn will be rehabiliated and become faithful servants to the crown. Tulcaner was never near Formenos and was not a party to those who abused Ingwë, but he did help beat up Tamurilon, so there you are. We'll find out his fate along with Ingoldo's next chapter. "At that the doors of the palace opened again and out strode Ingwion, Intarion and Lindarion, each holding a naked sword before them" Already here I had a feeling that something bad would happen soon. Ingwion and a sword, that sounded like a recipe for disaster! He is very close to beconing a Kinslayer himself. For each attempt, somebody has conveniently been in the way and it is only luck (or the Valar's will) that has stopped him so far. Will Ingwion also be tried for attempted murder? I guess this is where he becomes Namo's "apprentice"? shivers and waits for Monday Author Reply: Hi Siiw. Well, as you see, Ingwion with a sword isn't a good idea. Unfortunately, Ingwë is not as knowledgeable about insanity as we would like him to be so he was truly unaware of the danger. Well, he knows better now. grin We'll see how Ingwion fares with Námo in the next chapter. And no, this isn't where he become's Námo's apprentice. That happy event will not take place for at least another millennium. Thanks for reading and reviewing. I appreciate it very much.

ahh.....not that an elf can harm a Valar but I held my breath nonetheless and have to wait until the next update?!? Ingwe should not have let Ingwion attend. It was forseeable that he would break apart. I cannot understand this decision. Poor Ingwion. I hope the Valar can stop and help him. The one who has truly lost his mind is Ingoldo. Hope he gets his deserved punishment. Like the description of the trial surroundings very much. Thank you for another wonderful chapter and please update quickly that I can take a deep breath. Lai Author Reply: Hi Lai. Obviously, Ingwe doesn't have a clue and Ingwion's been behaving himself more so everyone thinks he's okay when he really isn't. Ingoldo is probably not entirely sane either or he's just being spiteful for the sake of being spiteful. Anyway, breathe, breathe.... LOL! Update will be coming soon I promise.
