I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the picture in the link you included is not there anymore. If you want us to be able to see it, you'll need to fix that. It's been three years now since I posted a review of this story. I still think you should write that sequel! =) I would love to find out what Frodo and Gandalf think of it.

Hey, you ought to write a sequel to this story, describing Sam showing that drawing to Frodo, Bilbo, and Gandalf, and explaining how it came about! It would be so cute to see them all laughing about that. =) Author Reply: Perhaps! I'll keep that in mind!

This made me giggle! Soooo sweet! And how cool that it came from a dream! :) Author Reply: Yes--it was such a cute vision of Sam with his little child on his knee, and that silly drawing...

Please forgive the double review, but I'd forgotten something that had struck me, even from the title onward: Sam the Turtle was well named, since there was a time when Sam himself was inching along, carrying his "burden," his "delivery," on his own back -- supplying all of Arda with the means to destroy their Enemy when Frodo's strength failed. Beautiful, excellent! Hugs, Mum Author Reply: What's to forgive? I don't mind-- I've done the same thing myself from time to time! And you are quite right-- and *that* is something I'd never have thought of! I have such brilliant readers!

Dreamflower, this is adorable from so many angles! I can just picture this conversation, and Robby's drawing is both lovely and important. What a comfort it would be to Sam-Dad any time his memories and dreams turned toward that horrible, heroic experience, a reminder that he and Frodo weren't really alone in their effort. I wouldn't be surprised if Sam the Turtle went West with Sam-Dad. Well done, as always, dear Dreamflower! Author Reply: I would not be a bit surprised either, and can just see Sam explaining him to Frodo after their reunion! I'm so glad you liked it!

It was very thoughtful of little Robin to provide his Daddy and Uncle Frodo with this very special turtle. And he was correct: It was an important matter :-) Author Reply: Yes, he's clearly a thoughtful child-- as I think most of Sam's children would be. Indeed! It was quite important, and Sam knew that!

What a sweet story! I love how practical Robin is and too bad indeed they did not have Sam the Turtle with them. But it does make the story more inspirational that they didn't. I love the wee hobbit's heart though for thinking about that. Cute art! Namarie, God bless, Antane :) Author Reply: Small children are both very practical and yet don't quite understand cause and effect yet. To little Robin, he was thinking of a way to help-- and I think that even though it didn't help *then*, it will help Sam in the *now*!

I so love this, Dreamflower, and Robin's gift to his father intended to convey comfort and aide in a black time. And the picture is perfect! Thanks for reminding me of how caring little children can be. Author Reply: Yes. Little children do care-- I'm sure it made Robin sad to think of his father and his Uncle Frodo being hungry and thirsty, so he thought up a solution. Of course, a child's hazy notion of how time works blurs the line between what would be possible-- but it's the thought that counts, as Sam knows!
