Boromir dies, but others live due to his sacrifice; and he at least dies with his honor restored and having sparked Frodo to break away, as he needed to do.

Poor Boromir! I hope that the clarity he finds beyond the grave shows him the truth.

Author Reply: Many thanks for your much appreciated review.I hope Boromir sees what happens from beyond the grave too.

Faramir would have endured Galadriel's gaze and looked her calmly in the eye

I hadn't thought of that but it makes sense, even if he tells Frodo and Sam he has no interest in going to the Golden Wood. Still he has nothing to hide and would have liked to have met her.

Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Author Reply: Many thanks for your much appreciated review.Faramir could have looked Galadriel in the eye as he said he would not even pick the Ring up from the highway.May God bless you too.

This is excellent! What a sad fate for Boromir, who had so bravely fought the orcs; to die with Gondor's future in doubt, and his own heart saddened by guilt.

Author Reply: Many thanks for your much appreciated review.I'm pleased you liked this drabble, I tinkered quite a lot with the original from 2 years ago.
