At least he now knows. Will Nazim be given the same chance? I'm glad he gave Aragorn the blade. Author Reply: Not so much gave as Aragorn has taken it, but at least he is armed now!

Yay! :) And of course that Aragorn wouldn't kill the man! That is Aragorn, after all. We know what he's like, although his opponent(s) still don't. He would never take life just like that, but only if absolutely necessary, in self-defense. Author Reply: Finally not that bad? =) And you are right, of course he wouldn't kill Kadar. If he is not forced to, that is...

Ah, finally Thorongil has a moment to deny the accusations! But gosh, what a thrilling chapter. You used actual detail sparingly but that didn't undercut the image of the fight. And I howled, "NO FAIR!" when they handed Kadar a replacement blade. But Thorongil has prevailed... the only question now is will he kill the man per their customs or hold fast to his own sense of honor. And if the latter, how will they react? I have a feeling it's a good thing Thorongil has that blade in his hands! Author Reply: He has a blade and knows to use it! And he has a plan... maybe. But for the beginning, a blade at the throat is always a good way to get someone's attention. :D And this "ritual" was not supposed be a fair fight, but a chance for the family member to get vengeance in combat. But Thorongil managed to make it a fair fight at least ;) I'm glad the sparse detail was not disturbing here - I try avoiding too much detail when describing a fight (the tendency of a fencer...), and concentrate on the feelings instead of describing a movement that would take half a second in three sentences.
