Finally finishing these up - glad to see another story of his wishing to heal and free those so long trapped by evil. Namarie, God bless, Antane :) Author Reply: I'm certain that this would be one of Aragorn's greatest desire--to indeed see all healed and set upon their proper way, including those caught on the ancient battleground and the site of the burials for so many.

This chapter was the best yet. So totally awesome that it gave me goosebumps. I never considered that the souls of those lost in the Dead Marshes were trapped there. This was an amazing release of them. Author Reply: Man, I was certainly distracted during the last weeks of March, wasn't I? I have so many comments I never responded to! We don't know that those whose seemings haunted the pools of the Dead Marshes actually were trapped there, but it seemed very possible! And it was wonderful to imagine how, if this premise were true, Aragorn and Arwen's coming there on that first anniversary would have freed them from the land to follow Namo's call at last. Thanks so very much, and for the patience you've shown in awaiting responses!

Poor Oropher. A nice account of his imprisoning and then, so many years later, the freeing of all the imprisoned souls from the Dead Marshes. Author Reply: We don't know, of course, what happened the fëar of those who died here, but if they were caught within the battleground, how strong a release they must have known when Sauron was well gone and the Renewer King came with the Elessar on his breast to breathe new life into this beleagured land! Thanks so very much, Raksha--how distracted I was at the end of March, apparently!

what a cool story! Nicely done! Love the joint singing to release those who were trapped and see their spirits safely to Mandos for healing and rebirth. Author Reply: I'm so glad you enjoyed it, Ellie. And if all who held inherent power sang together, how much more effectively would be the release of the evil of the place, and the release of those whose spirits were still caught in the memories of their final battles! Thanks so much for your patience, also, in awaiting a response!

How lovely! Arwen truly understood her father, and how such a request would not only heal the land and guide the lost souls, but it would also help those who fought in that battle and who lost friends and family because of it. This vignette makes me think of spring and Easter! :) Author Reply: It must ins ome ways have been difficult for Elrond to wait so long to sail from Middle Earth, as he'd said his goodbyes to Arwen already, yet missives and news would arrive from time to tome, I'm certain. At least what she asks was something he could only feel good about! I'm glad that it brings Easter to mind, Teresa. A time for preparation for rebirth, at least. Thank you so!

Oh Larner that was just beautiful! My eyes are moist and I feel their pain. I always wondered what would happen to them and this was a wonderful way to end it. Thankyou The Imp Author Reply: I'm so very glad you feel this was a good way to deal with those whose spirits lingered after the Last Alliance, Imp. I've hinted at this visit by Aragorn and Arwen to the battlefield before the site of the Black Gate, and that it helped purify the Dead Marshes; I was glad to write it at last!
