| It was a terrible sight to see, that last look at Boromir, knowing he was dying, and being helpless to do anything even to comfort him as he died. Well done. Author Reply: Hello m'dear, poor Merry (and Pippin) must've had a terrible shock to see their good friend dying. Obviously, they would have realised that, the Quest being as dangerous an undertaking as it was, that one amongst them might fall. But knowing it and seeing it are two different things. | That must have been a horrific sight for Merry and Pippin to see, but much good comes out of that valiant defense of the hobbits. Looking forward to the others, dear cousin! But Boromir's sacrifice made the destruction of the Ring possible, in time, so that's a heck of a legacy to leave. Merry and Pippin probably couldn't be prouder of their dear, heroic friend.
