The heart breaks to read about Sam thinking Sauron had had his victory at last. So it would appear now. What a terrible pain and certainly one I hope our dear was able to express later and not always try to hold it in which would only make it worse. I do hope he would somehow know his treasure had the final victory, even before he sees it with his own eyes so much later. Namarie, God bless, Your bloom :) Author Reply: Hello again, m'dear, lets hope he did. Poor Sam. Always torn in two, even when he should've been whole. We can but hope the Valar gifted him with a sign, or a dream, showing him Frodo's victory over Sauron's lingering evil. *sniffle* Thanks for R & R-ing, M ;o)

Alas for those torn apart by Sauron's actions, even after Sauron was defeated and gone. But Sam is stronger than all realize, and in the end I pray they were reunited. Author Reply: Hello once more! I like to think they were reunited. I find it difficult to believe Sam had the Sea longing for so many years, and missed Frodo for so long, only to leave the Shire and wander off somewhere in Middle Earth to die when his time came. Thanks very much for reading and reviewing each of these drabbles! Your kind words of support were very much appreciated. M :o)

A lovely series. I think the last one was best of all. Thanks for sharing! ~~~~~{~@ Author Reply: Hello Armariel, thanks very much. I'm glad you liked Sam's so much - the whole series was really building up to that moment, when - after all they had been through, and despite attaining victory - Frodo left Middle Earth forever and Sam could do nothing for him but watch him go. It's so sad. I hate reading that part of the book, or watching that part of the film, because it makes me feel really depressed ... Aargh! I'm so sad!! Thanks for R & R-ing, M ;)

What a powerful scene! I dearly hope that Sam's time with Rosie and his children was a good and happy time for him, as Frodo had wished, not an act of constant self control. Author Reply: Hello Andrea, wow, glad you think it's that good. I don't think his life without Frodo will be a constant act of self control, but it'll definitely take a good while before he works out how to live with this new pain. Rosie and the children will always be there to help him, though, and being the family-orientated chap that he is, that will soon put a smile back on his face. But he'll always miss Frodo, until he sees him again. Just as, when he does see Frodo again, Sam will always miss his Rosie ... *sob* He can't win, can he? Poor sod! Thanks for R & R-ing, M ;)

And that's Sam. That's Sam in a nutshell. [I didn't realize until now that this series is chronological.] Author Reply: Hello again! Maybe I should've mentioned somewhere that it was chronological, but I just didn't think (not a rare occurence, unfortunately). Sam's was always going to be the last one in this series because I wanted to end it with Frodo sailing off to find healing and Sam facing a lifetime without him (okay, almost a lifetime). Seems heartless, doesn't it? That's how cruel I am. *chuckle* But he does have Rosie, so that's definitely something. She'll keep Sam whole until he sess Frodo again. Sniffle. These are powerful little scenes! Author Reply: Hello shirebound, gosh, thanks! Great feedback. I was trying to aim for short but punchy, and I'm glad to see it worked! *massive grin* Thanks for R & R-ing, M ;)
