Lovely story. You caught both Gil galad and Cirdan so very well. I especially liked the fact that Cirdan was least moved by the rings, and in comparison to both Galadriel and Elrond, it somehow establishes him as a character much stronger than what others give him credit for. Plus, the angst-demon on the shoulder smiled when you made Erenion call Cirdan 'Ada.' Very nice. ;) Sphinx

I know I've read this before, but I don't think I ever told you how much I liked it. As in your 'Song of the Waters' Cirdan is drawn very well, the sailor mixed with a touch of mysticism and foresight. The vignette is poignant and beautiful.

This was wonderfully well written. The people came alive and every detail added to the mood you created. The idea that Gil-galad was giving his possessions away because he was weary and, perhaps, saw his death before him was very convincingly rendered. Cirdan too was a unique personality. Just great.
