| This is a very intriguing set up for a story. They are discussing Legolas and his involvement with the Ring and then his wanting to set up a colony in Ithilien. From there we go to the idea that the Valar, perhaps even Iluvatar may have had a hand in bringing about Legolas for the purpose of helping the Ringbearer. I look forward to this very much. I will read with great interest Riawen's tale. |

| I read this prologue for the first time so long ago that I had forgotten it. But reading it now reminds me of how intriguing this story was from the very first. It framed the story of this child's birth in an interesting way that connected it to the whole of Tolkien's tale. |
