Oh, dear--he actually found the law in question. Although it sounds as if it were intended to catch prostitutes rather than just beggars. Now, to see how it can be properly circumvented. And it does sound as if they could really do with a proper catalog. As for his thoughts on corsets--I agree! At least he now knows what women have done to themselves over the years in order to appear more comely! Author Reply: Intended, yes, but when that doesn't explicitly make its way into the books, the law can be skewed. And, for the record, Faramir's ideas on the corset are a bit affected by the fact that he's in one that doesn't really fit... | |
