Sauron's title "the Deceiver" was well earned, obviously, and while wearing his Ring he was so able to sow such distrust! Well done, Ellie! Author Reply: He certainly did deceive with that ring and with horrible consequences. Thanks for reading and reviewing!

As powerful the second time reading this as the first time, Ellie. The imagery is so immediate. I like the way you "explain" the destruction of the Silvan armies. It makes the deaths of Amdir and Oropher less a consequence of stupidity on their part and more as a result of the Enemy's manipulations, redeeming them in our eyes, as it were. The way the Elves were so easily convinced of the rightness of their hatred and disregard for the Noldor is absolutely frightening, because we can see that same kind of manipulation going on in our own world today without us really realizing what is happening or why. This is truly a cautionary tale for our own times, I think. And I don't think I'll look at a thunderstorm quite the same way, again. Excellent story! Author Reply: Just realised I never responded to this. I could fully believe that minds were manipulated in this way during wars with the likes of Sauron. Thanks so very much for reading (and rereading) and reviewing!

Wow. This ties many threads together and makes a believable explanation of the events of that war and after. Author Reply: Just realised I never responded to this. Thanks for reading and reviewing!
