both of whose Lights had been brightly polished by the Ring that had sought to tarnish them instead. What an interesting thought. I do believe that by the end Frodo had become a candle, set afire by Light and Dark, by his love for all Middle-earth for which he was suffering and by God's love for him, and also burning upon the wheel of fire, a figure 'clothed in flame' as Sam saw in the Tower. But I hadn't thought of Sam's light being polished as well, but indeed by his sacrificial love, he would have shone brighter. Evil defeats itself when it sought to destroy those who opposed it but instead brought out their hidden strengths. Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

IMO, you have captured the essence of Gandalf beautifully. I so enjoyed reading this. Congrats. Author Reply: I so rejoice you think so. How strange it must have felt to him, to find himself once more able to put off a seeming and go between spiritual and physical forms! And he goes accompanied by two of his beloved Hobbits.

the staff that held that of his power and memories he had no immediate need of What a marvelous way to say that. This is a lovely, inspiring piece. Author Reply: I've always believed the staff held that part of the Wizard's memories and power that would be part of his Maiar background, and that this was why the breaking of it would be so devastating, leaving him trapped in the mortal form without the ability to shift back when the right time came. Thanks so, Shirebound!
