| Now, I absolutely LOVE that comparison--"Stubborn as a tomato stain" indeed! And he's learned that there are good reasons to have someone at least in the family learn to read and write. Learned his lesson indeed, he has. And Bell loves him for it, as is so right and good! |

| Whew! It was only money! But at least the Gaffer learned a rather expensive lesson, and now knows that literacy can be useful! I'm sorry to see Hamson leave, even though I know it's canon, I've really enjoyed getting to know him. |

I never had a thought about Sam's older siblings, but your perspective on them has opened my eyes to their characters! Awww, Hamson is leaving...that's sad.
Author Reply: I don't know why I got so interested in Sam's siblings... all they are is a bunch of birth years in the genealogies at the back of ROTK. But characterizing them is strangely addictive! And I'm sure Hamson will be back. I'm especially fond of him, you see... 0:-) |

| That was really nice! I got a bit teary reading it and all. Hamson having to leave and Bilbo and Frodo making sure to come down for a good-bye as well. Frodo even making candy, hom sweet. I bet Sam is happy! I hope all goes well for him, looking forward to more, thank you! |
