Breathtaking action scenes. I am Bregolion is alive but how is it possible that he managed to escape? Wonderful loyalty of Thranduil's people once again. I wonder if Thranduil is able to feel the changes in the woods through his bond with it.

Oh my! Your descriptions of the woods around Dol Guldor were riveting! I wanted to stop reading but I couldn't! I kept saying 'One more paragraph, then bed'. Not so. I kept reading until the end. This passage was particularly telling: "They continued slowly forward for another hour. The deeper they went, the plainer the indications became. It felt like Mordor. It smelled like Mordor. Thranduil’s every sense was prickling with the danger of the place, the brooding malice. Even the horses were uncomfortable. He wanted to see Dol Guldur for himself, but at this rate he doubted they would be able to make it that far." The sense of foreboding is as palpable as Thranduil's own feelings of helplessness in the wake of this new threat, the sudden weight of his kingship pressing on him in a way it never has. I do not envy him, but nor do I doubt him. I'm hooked now. I have to read the next chapter! Author Reply: Thanks! Sometimes the sheer size of this tale can be daunting, but reviewers like you keep me enthusiastic. :)
