It is lovely to see how much Bilbo cares about Frodo. Author Reply: I so agree, Linda! Thanks so!

Happy birthday, Larner! And thank you very much for this mathom! Narcissa would have been the perfect wife for Frodo. But the Ring made it impossible for him to even think about marrying. I loved it that Pippin tried his best to find Frodo a wife and that from Pippin's point of view that hobbitess should be like his aunt Esmeralda :-) Author Reply: I suspect that both Pippin and Merry would have considered Merry's mom the perfect woman for most gentlehobbits, actually. I tend to agree with you about Narcissa (although Lily Proudfoot could also have been perfect for him!), but truly doubt that the Ring would have wanted any of Its bearers to be happy, much less happily married! I doubt It would have been able to abide what It would see as rivals.

*clenches fist and shakes it at the heavens* %^$%%^@$)(&** that Ring!!!!! 'nough said. Glad Bilbo's looking after Frodo. And I like the fact that the story is from Pippin's perspective. LOVE your writings! Your fan, Agape Author Reply: From what I've been able to glean about Frodo, he was always surrounded by those who wished to see him taken care of, and who wished him well!

Sighs.....if only the matchmaking plans of Bilbo and Pippin had worked out! Blast the Ring! But at least for one evening Frodo did have a taste of unsullied romance before the Ring and the shadows of the future came into play. Hmmm, I bet Lobelia would have met her match in Narcissa if Frodo hadn't inherited the Ring and she had married Frodo. I think they would have had the best of marriages, and been excellent parents. I can see Sam and Aragorn now, visiting their brother and the three of them watching their children playing in Bag End's gardens as they smoked their pipes. Somehow Aragorn still would have married Arwen and gained the throne and he would have slipped away every now and then to be just himself and not the king. Author Reply: I so agree. And I do suspect that Narcissa would have given Lobelia as good as she got, if not better. And I do suspect that Frodo would have been a common visitor in Annuminas, or that between the Hobbits and the Grey Company there would have been found a place between the northern capital and the Shire where the Hobbits and King would have all been able to meet as private individuals. Maybe the Lodge Dreamflower has imagined....

Happy Birthday, dear Larner! Le hannon for the present, the best part being Frodo's laughter. :) Live Journal seems to be having issues at the moment and that was where I was going to be put my own gift to you - will have to try again tomorrow. Namarie, God bless, Antane :) Author Reply: Frodo wasn't the Ringbearer as yet, so he had nothing to stop his laughter, at least. I had no problems with LJ earlier today, but tonight it's being very obstinate. Thanks so very much, Antane!

Ah, another list of 'if onlies', if only Bilbo had not left the Ring to Frodo, if only he had taken it to Imlardris, if only Gandalf had not made him give up the Ring, all the way to if only (what's his name, sorry, senior moment, can't think of the name, or at least his very first name, I can think of a few others, none of them fit for polits company!) had not sung his own Song! How differant things would have been! Huggs, Lynda Author Reply: Melkor had his own agenda, of course. But if onlies continue to pester us all, even though it's what actually happened in the end that counts, of course. Thanks so very much, Lynda!

That is so Lobelia. She is determined to get hold of Bag End no matter what it takes. Author Reply: And what she can't have, she'll do her best to make certain those who get it can't properly enjoy it. She's not particularly nice at this time of her life.
