A fascinating tale. Alas for the hearts lost to the maiden of the Sun! Author Reply: Nobody is safe from the matters of the hearts. *nodnod* Not even the Maiar.

And it did cheer me up. Thanks. Like Aracáno, I'm impatient to hear the rest of the story. The version of the story from Book of Lost Tales is so completely different from what eventually was written later on. It's interesting to see how different it is and at the same time recognize many of the same motifs that found their way into canon. Author Reply: Well, I'm glad that the cheering you up part worked. I had so much pain with this chapter, small wonder it took twice the time than usual to get it done. You are right: the BoLT version is very different, but - to be honest - I prefer its fairytale-like quality to the extreme dryness of the Silmarillion. Aracáno (and you) will get the end of the story soon, I promise. I just had to get a different storyteller for that. ;)

Oh, I love Ilmare and Fionwe more and more each chapter they're in (please say they'll be in more!). I really want to hug Fionwe, it can't be easy for him at all. At least he has Ilmare - and Eonwe - to look after him and make sure he isn't lonely. I'm very curious as to who Aracáno loves as well... Looking forward to the next chapter! :) Author Reply: Thank you! I'm very sorry for the delay, but the second half of the chapter simply didn't want to be written. I wanted it to be more than just some rewritten parts from BolT, hence the side tracks, but it wasn't easy. Fionwe indeed has his sister to comfort him, although in my corner of the Ardaverse Eonwe has been sitting in Mandos since the War of Wrath, trying to deal with his own trauma, so he's not much of a help right now. As for Aracáno - it will all be revealed in good time. ;)
