A lovely piece about friendship and family. But this knocked me over right at the beginning: “If you step on me, I shall be most upset.” It was too funny! Author Reply: Well, when you're lying on the ground it would be easy to be ignored and trodden upon! I'd be surprised if Frodo hadn't sought to protect himself by speaking out such a warning! Heh! Am so glad you liked it, Soledad. Thanks so!

I love Gimli's reassurance to Frodo about his unseemly thoughts that weren't really - at least not the ones he openly expressed - and also his words about Frodo's own worth outside being a relation of the Esteemed Burglar. Namarie, God bless, Antane :) Author Reply: I've found many others have expressed feelings of inadequacy identical to my own, or have admitted having similar uncharitable feelings and thoughts that I'd never spoken aloud. We all need to realize we all fight tendencies to be less than our best. Thanks so, Antane!

.. and how perhaps the world would be better off without a few Bracegirdles and Sackvilles I knew of There's nothing strange about that thought ;-) A great conversation between Frodo and Gimli! What a rare treat to read a thoughtful and intimate conversation between Frodo and Gimli. I really enjoyed this. Author Reply: I'm certain that Gimli would be comparing his experiences with these Hobbits and Frodo in especial with what his father had told of the journey with Bilbo so long ago. And it was good to find a reason to highlight Gimli for a change! Thanks so, Shirebound.
