Clodio has learned the hard way what wanting more than your fair share can mean. But at least he is sorry. Dago seems to still be missing the point, believing he's entitled to as much as he can grab. Viola and Berry are going to enjoy their time in the Citadel.;-) Author Reply: Dago continues to miss the point, and will for the foreseeable future! Viola and Beri will enjoy themselves wherever they are if they are together. I am having so much fun with this couple!

What a pleasant surprise to see this story updated again! It took me a bit to get around to catch up with it, but finally I found the time. lol, that poor apprentice is quite terrified of Serindė, isn't he? *shakes head* Clodio's an idiot. That amount of profit is way too high to be not suspicious. But obviously his greed overrode everything. At least he now is honest enough to admit his mistakes. Dago, on the other hand, doesn't seem to feel anything but self-pity for missing out on the big business. He doesn't show any regret with these who were cheated and threatened. That's not going to go down well. Looks like Serindė and Poppy are going to get along famously, which is good. Poppy will enjoy her stay in Gondor so much more that way, and Serindė's obviously happy to have Hobbits around again. Author Reply: He is, isn't he? LOL! Yes, his greed and his pride kept him from thinking straight, but he's beginning to understand now. Dago was motivated almost solely by greed, and he still doesn't understand why that's wrong. I'd always thought the two would get along! When SS gave me permission to use that bit of comment-fic, I decided to run with it! She's been very gracious and helpful.

I am so glad to see this one return with new chapters. Sorry it took me so long to get over here and review but I had to do a bit of back-reading. I'm up to speed now and ready to move onward. I loved this chapter, especially the way the hobbits interviewed the guilty ones in order to determine if they were sorry now. Very hobbity of them, wanting to have something good to tell the King even if they can't fix the entire situation. Again, I am very glad to see you writing this one. Author Reply: I'm so glad to get back to it too! I've been held up by other projects and also by an unruly Muse who never wants to tell me anything in proper order! But I am back on track now and determined to stay that way! Freddy and the others don't want to see the offenders suffer, they just want the right thing done.

I'm so glad you've come back to this story. I've been waiting a long time for this chapter, which I enjoyed very much. I hope you will continue with this and not make us wait too long for the next chapter. *grin* Author Reply: I hope so too! Sometimes my WIP muse decides to skip ahead of me instead of telling me what happens next, but I am finally back on track, and hope to remain that way for a while! I am so glad you are enjoying it!

Your update was a wonderful Monday morning surprise! Thank you. I am very happy the delegation is now in Gondor. That you are including Serinde and family is terrific. I am so glad Clodio, etc are getting a very fair hearing. Aragorn has some tough decisions to make. Surgical Steel has not posted on LJ for a very long time. Is she okay? I love her stories, but I am worried that something beyond the pressure of real life has happened. Thanks again for all your wonderful tales. Author Reply: I was very pleased that SS gave me permission to use her characters, and I hope to do them justice. Aragorn does have some tough decisions to make; he has to be fair and make sure they do receive punishment, but he also wants to be sure that he is merciful-- especially since they were entrusted to his court by Frodo! SS is fine. She no longer posts here, and her stories are taken down here on SoA. However, you can still follow them at the "Many Paths to Tread" archive and also on her LiveJournal "surgsteelfic".

Well this was a lovely surprise this morning. I have been re-reading the 2prequels to this on my Kindle while on holiday so I am delighted to have a new chapter to read. Glad to see that the other hobbits feel that Clodio & the Bracegirle are more fools than traitors. At least Clodio is now sorry for what he did. Lovely to see the appearance of Serinde & Thorongil and how they react to Poppy &Viola. But Betilac & Viola do have it bad don't they. Looking forward to seeing what happens when the prisoners face the King.

At least the Bankses are beginning to see the light, while Dago remains the ass he's been since the beginning. Well, it's almost over for them now. Author Reply: A very good description for Dago! Well, the sentencing will be along soon. But there will be more to their story!

Permit me to indulge in some (stifled, as it's past midnight) joyful, fangirlish squeeing! *grin* I was beginning to think this would NEVER be updated again!! More fool I to doubt YOU, Dreamflower! *hangs head in shame* But I love, love love this chapter! Ah, yes, fools - but their naivete cannot wholly excuse their treachery, I think! Oh, Serinde and Thorongil! *is glad SS has let you borrow them* I do love Thorongil! :) This chapter has (slightly) increased my patience for the next Ancestress update! *grin* You know me...(and you know, in reply to one of your responses on THAT story...no, I wouldn't be surprised if I was part Hobbit! I'm short, I love food, I'm somewhat overweight...heh! And I did feel half starved when I was in school and they didn't give us enough time for Proper Meals...I remember Miss Dora agonizing over that! :P) Hugs, Kaylee!! Author Reply: You may squee all you like, dear! I was beginning to think the same. I had a number of scenes written, but they needed much connecting material to turn them into a real chapter. This series tends to do that to me: even back in "Road to Edoras" my muse would skip ahead on me, rather than tell me what happened next, LOL! And it is doing the same thing with this one. *sigh* The prisoners really were very foolish. Dago remains a fool, but Clodio is beginning to see the light. And I am glad she allowed me to borrow them as well! *grin* With your love for genealogy and all, I am QUITE sure you are at least PART hobbit!
