Now that's kind of scary. You've touched upon an interesting point- "Do mortals live always in this silence?" Very thought-provoking, and rather unsettling to think about.

"The edge of my utter aloneness..." That is such a wonderful line... Author Reply: Um... *blush* and thank you ;-) Avon

Ooo, well done! I think I have some inkling of how Legolas feels here, at least on a general level. I've worn glasses since the third grade; now I'm trying to work my way out of them without those awful lasers, and now I've endured an entire year with suddenly insufferably short vision, though it is improving *oh-so-slowly*. It is irksome to suddenly have your powers of perception trammelled, especially, I would imagine, for an Elf. ;) Author Reply: Thanks, Coriel. I'm very interested in how you are trying to work your way out of glasses as I've had to have them for the last year when I became short-sighted and boy I miss good vision! Avon

Well done. I admit I shy away from writing Legolas, but I think you have captured him in a moment in time, here. Author Reply: I love Legolas - but I also find him a bit hard to write, generally. I think I worry too much what everyone will think of my interpretation of him. With 100 words I guess I didn't have time to panic ;-)

"Do mortals live always in this silence? I shiver and wonder no longer at the dark grimness of our Men." Oooh. What a wonderful insight. Author Reply: Thanks! I actually rather like caves so I really tried to get into Legolas's head - and he came up with that thought ;-)
