| Alas, poor Frodo! For the time did indeed ripen to fruition in his time, and it was up to him to hold back the darkness with his own body, hopes, and dreams. I love Dora's affection for Frodo (and Bilbo, even as she freely expresses her exasperation), and the fact that such a Bastion of Propriety should, for once, forget to have a fresh handkerchief handy... Author Reply: Yes, she does love her nephew, and her exasperating cousin. And I suspect she was terribly embarrassed to find she didn't have a handkerchief in her keeping, and that she was heartily grateful to Bilbo for the loan of his. I suspect she's most pleased to find it was clean and freshly pressed. Unfortunately Frodo did prove as responsible as Bilbo predicted, and he did his best to help push back the Dark. Love to the family and the beasts. | |

| It makes my heart happy to see Frodo so loved and cared for. And of course this is so lovely (and true)... the dark will find itself drawing back as much from the pure flame at the heart of our lad there as it will from anything.
