Warriors Proud  by Ellie 4 Review(s)

It must have been a relief to Thingol that these two finally work together. I like it that Haldir finally finds some peace. I don't want to think about the implications of time travel to deeply when it involves immortal beings. Makes the mind boggle.

Author Reply: It had to have been difficult for Thingol to have two guys with lots of useful knowledge constantly at odds with each other. Haldir deserves the peace as well and the opportunity to find a new routine in this new land and settle in - again. Haldir and his buddies probably don't want to have to keep thinking about the intricacies of their time travel either, though they do keep stumbling into things they wish they hadn't. Poor guys!

At least there is peace now between the forest Elves and those born in Doriath. Love Melian's interference here--she is as wise as ever! Delightful that they are confused as to who is influencing whom! Heh!

Author Reply: Melian is very wise and is handling the whole situation very well having the guys from the future there in Doriath. The paradox of who is influencing whom is indeed a fun one for the elves to have to sort out or to simply give up on and try not to think about. LOL! They better behave themselves so they don't' end up in history and embarrass themselves.

Very nicely done. I loved the friendships that are now formed. But to think of Celeborn - :)

Author Reply: Thank you :-)

The friendships needed to form in order to facilitate everyone working together. Celeborn is still young, likely younger than Haldir's second son and he is also a more obscure prince being a grandson of the king's younger brother Elmo. I don't think that Celeborn had much need or cause for being the one in charge and since he is so far down the food chain in an immortal crowd of people, he may not see himself as likely ever needing to be the guy in charge. Also, he probably was really embarrassed by getting injured first time out with the big boys in a fight. It's a male pride thing as I see it. He's over it by the time he has to rule in Lorien, many thousands of years in the future, but he's just a young'un in the eyes of the elves in Doriath at this point.

Thanks for reading and reviewing! I appreciate it very much!

It clearly hat to take spilled blood - spilled in battle against common enemies - for the stiff-necked Mablung to see that yes, the warrior arts Haldir and his friends had brought with them had merit, and for Haldir's equally stiff-necked son Taurion to figure out that these Doriathrim weren't such bad people at all!
And it was rather appropriate for Taurion and Mablung to become gwedyr

Author Reply: Sometimes a slap in the face with reality is what it takes to make someone open his eyes and see. Haldir was a very patient soul in this unlike his son and Mablung who of course had to learn things the hard way. At least the lessons appear to have been learned now and everyone now knows it as well!
