Nice! I'll admit I don't remember much about the Hobbit, but seems like a good little missing scene... :-)

Author Reply: Thank you. If you ever watch it again, notice how high up the eagles left them!

Such a lovely scene. Bilbo earned it. That was quite a day. It is a wonder that Bilbo held out as long as he has. He is no Dwarf after all. I love it that you let Thorin carry him when Gandalf is needed to light the way.

Author Reply: "This was quite a day" indeed! Bilbo showed his quality, and then some, but still must have been utterly exhausted. Thank you very much for reading. :)

Very lovely! A sweet filler, as I doubt we'll be privileged to witness their transition from crag to rambling toward Mirkwood. I would love to read about Bilbo after the Battle of the Five Armies, where he wraps himself in a blanket and just weeps for all that happened. That is one of my most favorite scenes. When I go to see the final movie installment I may as well bring along a box of tissue, lol. Wonderfully done, shirebound!

Author Reply: Thank you! And oh yes, there are definitely scenes we're all hoping to see. Bilbo is so endearing, and (like Frodo) deserves more comfort than he gets in canon.

Oh, I like this very well, Shirebound! Dear Bilbo deserves the coddling, and all of them are fully willing to offer it at the moment.

Author Reply: Thank you. You know I can't resist a chance to coddle.

Aww! Poor Bilbo all tuckered out, but Thorin, yes, that was a lovely image of him carrying our favorite burglar, though I would imagine Biblo would be rather embarrassed if he realized just who doing the carrying. *grin* Good job, Shirebound.

Author Reply: Thank you, my friend. I can't resist a chance for hobbit comfort. And Bilbo truly must have been exhausted and battered after such a day.

This was such a lovely image.

Author Reply: Thank you, Linda. Hobbit TLC makes my heart happy.

Hooray! A Hobbitty story. Poor Bilbo. Yes, I think Tolkien pushed him too far on that leg of the journey. Thank goodness for Beorn. Loved Thorin!

Author Reply: Yay for endearing Bilbo and new, steadfast friend Thorin! This was fun to write. Thank you very much for reading.

I just left the theater two hours ago. Alas, it's doubtful the film will be in our local theater tomorrow, so it was particularly good to find a Hobbit ficlet.

Poor Bilbo had quite a day, didn't he? Several scary -- and almost fatal -- moments on the mountain, deciding to go back to Rivendell, falling into Mount Gundabad, being captured by goblins, falling even further into Mount Gundabad, meeting and escaping from the all-too-carnivorous Gollum, stabbing a warg that was about to eat him, being chased by other wargs, having to scramble from tree to tree, defending Thorin, being stalked by Azog's warg, being picked up by an Eagle -- and then dropped!, and being yelled at Yet Again by Thorin.

It's a good thing someone solved the question of How They Get Down.

I'm glad you're still in the hobbit-care business, Shirebound. I've been reading your stories since late 2002 (originally on Nindaiwe). Thank you!

Author Reply: Thank you so much. What a joy to discover that this film inspired more hobbit-care; I would hate to go out of business when there's still so much TLC to be dealt out! Oh my goodness, I remember Nindaiwe. I can't tell you how gratifying it is to know that some of us are still writing and reading and supporting one another after all this time. What a creative and wonderful decade-plus it's been for our fandom.

Aw, I see your warm, fuzzy Muse is still lurking about! He must have been so exhausted poor fellow emotionally and physically.

Good one Shirebound,

Huggs,
Lynda

Author Reply: I was delighted to discover my Muse was still lurking! Thank you, Lynda. Bilbo really must have been incredibly worn out and aching after such a long ordeal and chase.
