I didn't realize you had written a new chapter, Larner, or I would've read this sooner. Yes, Sohrabi has reason to pity Aragorn his longetivity. It's fine when everyone else equally lives as long but when most die while you continue living, that's not good. It is no wonder that few Elves wished to burden themselves with befriending mortals who (from their point of view) lived only for a brief moment or two. Author Reply: I so agree. Legolas was therefore particularly brave in the end.

Sohrabi is an interesting character and the best leader Harad could have wished for in those times. What would have happened if the leader had been a willing and convinced servant of Mordor? Surely, many more people would have died before the arrival of Aragorn. And maybe Harad would not have been made an equal among equals. Author Reply: That is a good question, Andrea. I do hope that during his visits to Harad and Rhun that Aragorn managed to help prepare a few righteous Men to take over leadership of their lands once Sauron was defeated. But if things had been different I'm certain that the enmity between Gondor and Harad would have continued indefinitely. A great waste of energy and soldiers on both sides it would have been.

I do like this character. And I'm sure he and Aragorn will have a great visit. Very nice chapter. Heartening. Author Reply: I wrote of the two visits Aragorn made in "Lesser Rings," and it's been wonderful to find that Sohrabi still speaks to me after all of this time. Thanks so, Agape.

I'm enjoying this very much.It is good to see your characters from Harad again and interesting to see Aragorn through their eyes. Author Reply: Aragorn must have been quite a surprise to the folk of Harad, I suspect. And Sohrabi must have been surprised to see how little the Man he remembered had changed in the intervening years.

Oh what fun to see Sohrabi again! "Lesser Rings" is one of my favorites among your stories! I'm trying to catch up a little bit with some of the B2MEMs I've missed. I'm glad we are going to have a "reading week" afterwards, though! Author Reply: I have been trying to catch up with the writing, but have been hampered by more computer woes and a final change to a new computer, unfortunately loaded with Windows 8. What a piece of garbage! To say I detest it is to let it off too lightly, I fear. Have finally installed a start button for desktop mode and have it set to go into desktop first, but that foul Metro keeps trying to intrude in spite of all I've done. Windows 8 truly sucks! Anyway, it's been fun reviewing Sohrabi and bringing him again to the fore. He deserved a bit more attention, I felt. Thanks so much, Dreamflower.

I like how you describe this encounter and Sohrabi's impressions of Aragorn. Especially intriguing is the very end. Author Reply: To realize the cost that Aragorn pays for his slow aging would be important, I think, to accepting Aragorn as he is. And I doubt that Sohrabi would have been foolish enough to envy his fellow-ruler for long. Thanks so, Ellynn.

Excellent analysis of two noble rulers. I am really enjoying this series. Thank you. Author Reply: And thank you! It's fun playing with the characters from "Lesser Rings" again.

What a perceptive man. He will be such a good ally and friend, and one who always sees the 'quality' in others... such as An'Elessar. Author Reply: I'm so glad you find Sohrabi so, Shirebound. It has been wonderful revisiting him at this time, and looking at the war and its aftermath through his eyes.
