Ohhh...This is just so lovely and so gentle too. That's not something you usually see w/Denethor, but I have always thought that for Denethor to capture the heart of Findulias, he had to be very gentle w/those he loved in private and you've captured that so well here. I also love the thought of the Starry Mantle to be made up of the Constellations of Middle Earth. I always assumed it to mean Diamonds simply sewn on to the the velvet in staggered rows to make it look like a starry night, but this is such a lovely image. Thank you for that idea and from now on, I'll be picturing the Mantle like that whenever I read about it being worn by either Finduilas or Eowyn. Thanks for such a wonderful look at how the last Ruling Steward and his Lady found each other. :o) Author Reply: I am so grateful for your lovely review! I, too, had to really put myself in Finduilas' shoes and wonder how Denethor would have come across to her in order for her to grow to love him. So glad that you enjoyed my take on the cloak and how it appeared! I really appreciate your kind words; these two are compelling and I'm very pleased that my take on their courtship resonated with you. | |

This is a nice look at Finduilas and Denethor and how she might have come by the cloak. You have 3/4 in several places, which I think is a formatting/code error you might want to fix. Author Reply: Thank you very much! I wrote this without consulting other 'how Finduilas got the cloak' stories, becuase when I was writing that last scene, at first I'd imagined it that Denethor gave her a necklace with the constellation of the Ardaverse Pleiades. Then it struck me that he could be ever more romantic and have planted the cloak behind a tree. :) Thanks also for the coding heads up. Looks as though some of my ellipses turned into 3/4 symbols.
