| “He said, ‘I notice that you have an extra guard to the house today.’ What a kind and complimentary remark to make to Elrond, and most especially to Aragorn's children. I very much enjoy Uncle Legolas interacting with children. Author Reply: Aragorn must have been worried as to just how revealing this particular story might prove, but I doubt that Legolas would truly wish to embarrass his friend so. And I'm so glad you, too, feel it proved a complimentary statement. I suspect that Aragorn always wanted to emulate the responsibility he saw in those who surrounded him while he grew up. | Chuckle, poor Aragorn! He will have a few things to explain to Arwen if Eldarion does decide to take up guard duty at the Citadel! However, I'm sure that he'll figure out something to embarrass Legolas about at some point.....and his children may find a few stories of their exploits being passed on in the future as well. I know from experience how family stories can return to haunt you! | I love the idea of Elves celebrating the true beginning of life, conception, and not nine months later like we do. Namarie, God bless, Antane :) Author Reply: There have been viable reasons not to accept life as having started until the child begins moving voluntarily, of course; but with Men and other mortals, the question as to WHEN they were conceived tended to be more problematic. The celebration of conception days for Elves is canonical, from the LACE traditions, I understand. Thanks so for the feedback! | |

| Oh YAY! I love Legolas, and I love stories with Aragorn's children and Legolas being "Uncle Legolas", and I *especially* love the little tale Legolas told here! Little Estel must have been *so* cute all dressed up as a warrior!! LOL! But I *especially* love Thranduil's report on Estel's appearance - and Elrond's response to Thranduil! Not to mention, of course, Aragorn's reaction to hearing that part of the story!!! Oh, what I wouldn't have given to be a fly on the wall for Elrond and Thranduil's whole conversation that day! :) So much love for my favorite Elves and Aragorn!! :D Kaylee Author Reply: Aragorn must have worried about how Thranduil might have reacted to seeing him with his hair all short and the dirt on his face and the state of his clothing--to know that the Elven King saw him as responsible must have been such a pleasant revelation!
