| Aragorn didn't serve decades as a Ranger for nothing, that's for sure! =) Author Reply: Not only as a Ranger, but also serving in the gardens of Rivendell and learning healing as a youth--he knows the drill! Glad you enjoyed this one--it's one of my favorites about Aragorn, I think. | |

| I have always been taught to be kind to the stranger who shows up at your door. You never know when one might be and angel as indeed Aragorn was to Mithrellas. Author Reply: Oh, I so agree, Tari! | What a surprise for Mithrellas! Did Aragorn take Arwen to meet her one day? He truly is the best of Men, and I'd loved to know what Sam and the others thought of this adventure! | Read this last night, reread it just now. This is such a sweet story. I love the interactions between Aragorn and the widow. I also enjoyed her swatting his behind. I hope he stops by again, just to say hello. Thank you. Author Reply: I am so glad you enjoyed it. It must have been very satisfying for Aragorn on occasion to be accepted solely on his own merits rather than being automatically kowtowed to as The King. Thanks so! | |

| I love most Aragorn's humility, not revealing himself so as to not freak out anyone, but at the same revealing himself in a different way to be what all great leaders are, a servant to their people. :) Namarie, God bless him and you, Antane :) Author Reply: I so agree, Antane, which is another parallel between Aragorn and Frodo--both I believe would ever seek to serve those they cared for in whatever capacity they could manage. | |

| Lovely little story. I am always glad to read gentle stories of the good people of the country. By the end of his reign, imagine all the people that Aragorn reached out to, either in his persona as Elessar or as the Ranger we see here. That is as much a legacy to leave as monuments or formal songs. This old woman is blessed by him (although she might be a bit lightheaded when she remembers swatting him on the behind as he left). Author Reply: I know, FantasyFan--how many he has served as King; how many he protected upon the battlefield; how many he helped find healing through his gifts; how many he must have provided justice for, and how many he must have helped quietly in other manners as well. And I love the idea that he accepted such caring familiarity at times as well! | |
